happy spring

Happy Day! It's Friday and today, I've made a fun, shaped card using Mama Elephant's Creative Cuts Die called Landscape Trio...and I can see it being used for so many other ideas, so I've been making edges on my cards and this one:

I went for the 'cute' theme and since I haven't colored in a while, decided to pull out my Copic Markers and mix and matched some stamps from Taylored Expressions and Cas-ual Friday Stamps. Hope this card puts a smile on your face.....have a great weekend!

Hello Friend

Happy Thursday! Hope you are all enjoying your week thus far.....I was really in the mood for a bit of Blues and Chocolates today....something vintage....and....nature inspired.....yum....and I added in some yellow and pink for good measure....

Hello Friend

I used this fun die from MFT/Die-namics called Chicken Wire.  I'm still way in love with the new Graphic45 paper pack called Botanical Tea Collection, so I used it in abundance on this card.  No stamping whatsoever, I kept it easy.....finished this card within 20 minutes.

Hope you have a wonderful, crafty day! Take care! xo

Live every everyday

Hello! I dabbled in a bit of watercoloring and distress inks today with a yummy new stencil.  I needed another wedding card too....for a family member coming up soon. ;))

live every moment love everyday

Since the bride's colors are a deep purple with hints of grey/black, I decided to make the card for the couple in the same hues.  A very classic design, simple and straightforward.  The stencil is from Penny Black and the sentiment is from Mama Elephant's Everyday Greetings set.  Don't you just love that sentiment?  Hard to tell, but I did the gradient effect here and made the bottom part of the stencil darker than the top. I always go from darkest at the bottom to most delicate going upward.

Stencil: Penny Black/Promenade.
Sentiment stamp: Mama Elephant/Everyday Greetings.
Patterned Papers: Basic Grey.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Distress Inks: Tim Holtz/Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender.

Self Documentation

With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I find that we are always challenged to capture the images and memories of others, all of our loved ones and friends combined....and I absolutely love doing that so much.... but do you ever take a moment to create something just for yourself? Something to document the things that YOU like?  And it doesn't have to be anything significant, just perhaps a hobby you enjoy, your favorite foods....or of your favorite colors:

the color PINK

Can you believe I actually opted for a 12 x 12 for this LO? I have probably three or four, at most, 'self' layouts that I've created throughout the years.  I got to use some new goodies today....when I saw this new patterned paper from Graphic 45, I knew just what to do with it.  Perfect spring time colors! The colors on this collection is breathtaking!  Also, the new curved and scalloped dies from Mama Elephant that I used as a border on top and bottom there....LOVE!  I'm imagining many uses for this die set.

Also used another die from Memory Box, the leaf die you see on the left side of the LO.  If you would like to see a close-up detail of this layout, you may click on the photo and it will take you to a zoom shot on Flickr.

I would love to finish up one for the rest of my family and get all of these framed and hung up on our walls.

I'll be back later with a lavender inspired wedding card! ;))  Have a great weekend everyone! And for all of my friends celebrating Easter, I wish you a wonderful holiday!

This card is somewhat similar to yesterday's card, except I think it varies with color intensity.  I really packed it with more color!  I just adore this time of the year and all the vibrant hues popping up everywhere:

I rarely, if ever, flip my cards horizontally.  I normally like the vertical stand... left, or top fold.  I'm still playing with a lot of Dear Lizzy embellishments and die cuts. Some older products but still so much fun to use up on some 'any' occasion cards.

I added some faux stitching up top near the sentiment and a vintage charm kind of completes the look I was going for. Have a happy day, everyone!

my kind of guy....

Today, I decided to play with Geometrics.  Normally, I like my LO's to have a softer look to them, but I wanted this layout to be more edgy and playful, oh, so boyish - encompassing a lot of circle gears, zigzags, straight edges, and triangular shapes:

my kind of guy

My main go-to colors are oranges and blues. I did create both a top and bottom scalloped edge and aligned that so they would match.  Layered all of the fun sticker shapes from Echo Park/Lori Whitlock's "All About a Boy" Collection.  I very, subtlety 'hid' his age behind some of the stickers, can you see it?

All in all, a very fun piece to work with today. Hope you all have a beautiful week ahead!

Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Patterned Papers: Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny, and SEI.

Now & Forever

Hello! I needed a super, simple wedding card. I so heart weddings and I'm so excited when I either get to make a wedding card for someone or attend an event in person. :))

These papers from this DCWV stack called "White Fern" is my favorite go-to color for a more neutral toned look. It has a bit of a soft yellow mixed with light browns and white.  The chipboards, die cuts, and rub-ons are all from Basic Grey.

I added a little lace trim at the the bottom to finish off the entire design.  Is everyone enjoying their Spring Break? Or perhaps, your littles are returning to school? We finally have ours next week, yay! Hope to get some R & R and some sleeping in time. :)  Have a good one!

Tuesday, April 8, 2014're the most beautiful

Can you believe we are in April, and that Mother's Day is just around the corner? How do you celebrate your mom? I know everyone has such unique and special traditions...each tradition being enriching and dynamic for all of our families.  I always struggle to make the most perfect Mother's Day card for my mom each year.  But I still have a little the meanwhile, I did make a layout of my adorable mom:'re the most beautiful flower in the garden of life

Hmmm, wondering where I get my love for flowers? ;) My mom is a classy lady, she is old fashioned in some ways, but is exquisitely modern in her thinking, wisdom, and expression of humor.  She has guided me through some of my worst moments in life, and she has also rejoiced with me during my best moments.  I could go on forever about her....but truly...what an amazing woman.....

For the layout, I meshed together papers and embellishments from Simple Stories, Chickaniddy Crafts, and Bo Bunny.

I used almost an entire set of sentiment stamps from a Mama Elephant set to create my own little journaling bit at the top.  The leaf stems are from a die that I just love!

Thank You Scalloped Treat Bag

Hi everyone! Hope you've all had a great day! It's been busy, busy for me today but I love it! ;)  I was able to sneak in this little treat bag tonight - using pretty much all scrap and leftover items, really simple.

Thank You Scalloped Treat Bag

This was the pink and white version. I made a 'blue' version too but will just show this one.  Using a plain, kraft bag, I used my scalloped edge punch to create the top fold. I also added a little washi tape, florals, a decorative clothespin, and some lace, some yummy twine, and a Heidi Swapp sentiment stamp.

I took a whole doily but decided to only trim the 'middle' part of it to tuck underneath the flowers and leaf.  Thought it would be fun to use a different part of a doily.

Simple, quick - and makes a great little appreciation gift for someone sweet in your life! ;)
