Girlie Girl

Now if I had a girl....oh my.....I think I would do some major damage to my checkbook....all the sweet little clothes for her, maybe a cute hairstyle....and all the little scrap pages that I would dream up for her....sigh.... but since I don't have a girl, I am fortunate that I have nieces and friends with girls.  I made this layout for a very dear friend of mine....this is HER niece, isn't she absolutely A-dorable??

Girlie Girl

I, once, again, dove right into the Chickaniddy collection and used mostly the Twirly Girly set.

I tried keeping this one very simple.....but then again, I wanted to really embrace the embellishments and make it very feminine. I had a hard time with it in the beginning as far as how I wanted to capture her face and her sweetness...... but in the end, I think I like the result.  Hope you enjoy!  Have a fabulous rest of your week!

The Biggest Date Night Ever.....

Wouldn't you say your wedding day was pretty much the 'biggest' date night you ever had? ;)) Kind of, right? I'm so thrilled to be using this new product line from Chickaniddy.  Have you seen their new line? They made their debut at CHA2014, and the lines are super pretty! Wow.....it's been a while since I've done a scrapbook layout.....

Biggest Date Night Ever

I used a combination of Date Night and Twirly Girly in the LO.  Just a smidgen of Twirly Girly though, the main concentration was on the former set.  This is such a fun line to work with and I'll be back later with an all girly layout using mainly Twirly Girly.  And if you haven't guessed by now, I have this little addiction of rounding my corners on everything...even LO's.  Just seems to add a bit of softness and delicacy to the look.

Here's a little closer look at some of the embellies and colors:

Biggest Date Night Ever

I'll also be back later playing with some new stencils as well.  Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Now that the major holidays have passed us by, there is more fun to be had with birthdays, Spring time (awwww......one of my favorite seasons), where everyone seems much happier, smiles are more abundant, the sun shines brightly everywhere you turn, and the birds chirp outside your window in the morning when you wake up! ;) Oh, yes, Spring is definitely one of the happiest seasons that I cherish.  And let's not forget the frills of romantic weddings and beautiful brides.....in which case, I have a little wedding card for you today. ;)

There's nothing really special on here, no fancy dies or stamping or distressing technique...in fact, I just simply fell in love with a paper stack from DCWV, and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I free hand trimmed most of the papers and kind of meshed it all in together to create this simple piece.

The wooden butterfly chips I picked up at M's. Super cute and fun to play with.  That's it for my day....hope it brings you dreams of something spring and warmth!  Have a great day!

Sweet Friend

Hi!  A little card for my day, well actually....I made this several days ago, just haven't posted yet.  Used up a lot of my scraps from Valentine projects and turned this card into a Valentine/Friendship theme, and if I've ever gotten my moneys worth for using old products, it's definitely here....can anyone remember what collection this patterned paper is from?

Sweet Friend

Even the little stick pins are older, but I love using up existing supplies! :) Don't forget to dig deep in your supplies, you may find things you still love!  This card reminds me that Spring is almost here, and that makes me even happier!!

Enjoy your day!

Teacher Valentine Cards

Hello there......how is everyone coming along on their Valentine's Day projects?  I finished up all of Chris' Valentine's for his classmates.  I've also been working on some vintage style cards all day and have some cards for C's Teacher and all of her aids, and also one for a very special lady that is helping C in one of his classes:

Teacher and Aids Valentines Cards

I used an assortment of techniques to include stamping, heat embossing, watercoloring, use of patterned papers, and die cutting.  I then took each card and wrapped in a little glassine bag and enclosed a surprise gift with the card for each person. Shhhh, I can't tell you what the the gift is. ;))  Oh, how I love surprising people, don't you?:

That sweet little enclosure tag with the rose above, was sent to me by my dear friend Michelle.  :))  Check out her blog......she is an awesome, fellow crafter, and is super sweet to me!!

A White Lace and Green Valentine's

Happy Sunday, everyone! I was in the mood for a romantic Valentine's card today....my main color was green with just a small touch of pink, cream, and white. This is for a man to give to his wife:

Happy Valentine's Day

I used an oldie flower favorite called Dogwood from Hero Arts.  The larger 'heart' die is from Memory Box and the two smaller heart dies are Frame Cuts from Hero Arts.

I added a little strip of lace, folded and adhered beneath the hearts. Dabbed on some pearls. Inserted a stick pin through the lace.  The sentiment and triple heart stamps is from Avery Elle.

That's it for my day. Have a beautiful week, enjoy!

Happy Birthday

I needed a manly birthday card......Manly cards are pretty much the hardest cards to make, right? Unless I know my recipient very well, I will usually stick to a very 'neutral' color scheme and stamp set for him:

Happy Birthday

I decided to use this leaves stencil that I've used before but changed up the color with Tim Holtz' Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks. I inked the stencil directly onto patterned paper. The rest is self explanatory. I distressed the edges and stamped a Hero Arts sentiment.  Pretty quick and simple....and the best part, even my husband approved of the look (not his birthday though). ;))

Enjoy the weekend. I hope to be back with some simple Valentine's cards and I still have no idea what we are making for C's class this year!

With Love Peace & Comfort

I have a soft, sympathy card to show you today, I used a sentiment from a Cas-ual Fridays Stamps set called Beanstalks. Played with the leaves stencil that is in the same set as the Night Flower from Hero Arts:

With Love Peace & Comfort

I used Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw distress inks for the leaves.  The flower is from a Mama Elephant set called Lovely Mums.  It's been a while since I've used my circle and scalloped dies from Spellbinders! Wow......I need to use all of my Spellbinders dies again!

To match the colors of my flower and leaves, the pp from My Mind's Eye's In Bloom set was just the perfect coordinating colors.

Hope your Monday was lovely!

Little Birthday

Well, Hello Super Bowl Sunday!  Hope you are all well! Busy weekend here but I did manage to sneak in a "cute" themed card, a whole lot of die cutting going on, some coloring, stamping, and use of pp:

Happy Birthday1

The fox, tree, leaves, and heart are all from Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods set. I stamped the heart, the tree, the fox, and used its coordinating die set to cut out the fox.  The grass die is from Die-namics.

I wanted to make the scenery into a tag - but I didn't have a hole punch for the tag, then I remembered I had a Mama Elephant set that had a tiny circle die which was perfect for my 'hole' punch.

On the inside of the card, I stamped some sentiments that I put together from 5 different stamps from Paper Smooches - my first ever PS set, can you believe that, where have I been? I normally do not ever put a sentiment on the inside of a card, but decided to do so with this one:

Happy Birthday2
