Merry Christmas from Our Family to Yours....

I'm so thankful for many things in my life, and one of those things is all of YOU - my readers.  Thank you for following along with me on this exceptionally, wonderful crafting journey of mine.  And for all of your support through the years. I've met so many wonderful crafting friends, not just online but in real life as well.

I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you all!  And through the years, I've watched your families grow and you've seen my son grow up......We wish you all a very happy holiday season with your loved ones!

Yours,
Tiffany Xoxo

When you don't have that perfect sentiment....

I pretty much scoured my entire sentiment supply for the one that I thought would be most fitting for this scenery, but in the end, I couldn't find one. My choices of sentiments were either too big, too long, too small, or I didn't like the font...sooo, I decided to take a try at handwriting my own sentiment:

Peace on earth

I really wanted to incorporate the word 'Peace' somehow, so I took my fine point, black pen and just went with it. I did add in (after I took the photo) a woodland creature at the bottom and some birds soaring at the top.  It just needed that little extra something.

I distressed the 'night' sky with pink mist, mustard yellow, and melon green. Really yummy colors.

Overall, still a very simple, and in my mind....peaceful design. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

Supplies:
Stamp: Woodland Wonder - 40-356/Penny Black.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Distress Inks: Tim Holtz.
Black ink: Versafine Onyx Black.
Sentiment: Black Sharpie pen.

Thank you for the beautiful ways you touch my life

Hi! Just a super quick post tonight before I head to bed.  I'm still finishing up some Holiday/Thank you cards and thought I'd work with a stencil tonight from Penny Black called Endearing:

Thank you for the beautiful ways you touch my life

Are you finished with your Christmas cards and shopping? I'm not even close. Yikes! But this pretty stencil used above makes for a really simple and non-cluttered design.  I mixed some Tim Holtz inks, these cards have a mix of blues, greens, yellows, and reds. There were more reddish accents on the card sitting in the background.  The sentiment is also from Penny Black, an older one called Beautiful Ways.  I distressed the edges surrounding the image for the finished look.

Supplies:
Stamps: Endearing/25-006 - Beautiful Ways - 4177H - Penny Black.
Distress Inks: Tim Holtz.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Green Cardstock: Doodlebug Designs.
Stitched frame die cut: Lawn Fawn.
Red Ink: Memento Lady Bug.

Traveling Mimi & Friends

Hello! A friend of mine requested for her little girl, a small ID/Luggage Tag that could also double as a bookmark.  So I thought this really simple idea would work for both.  I used Penny Black's Mimi and Friends stamp called Reindeer games:

Mimi Luggage Tag and Bookmark

Aside from all the coloring which took awhile, I laminated the image to make it more sturdy to attach to any luggage or purse. The personal ID info is placed on the back of the laminate card. Very simple.  You can purchase these self laminating adhesives at most office supply stores or if you have your own laminating machine. The ones at the office stores have extremely easy directions to follow.

Take the tag off your traveling piece, and you can use to insert inside your books for all your holiday reading time!

Supplies:
Stamp: Reindeer Games/4440K - Penny Black.
Markers: Copic Markers.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Laminate adhesive.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black.

Your thoughtfulness means the world to me...

Finally sitting down to blog super quick.....A little piece of joy for me today.......a card I made a few days back:

Your thoughtfulness means the world to me

I don't have many stamp sets from IO.  But I really love this sweet floral image from their 'On Your Birthday' set, even though I did not intend to use this for a birthday card.  So, I used another sentiment instead....from Taylored Expressions, to turn it into a friendship/Thank You card.   A very quick dabble of color keeps the images quaint and simple.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Floral/butterfly stamp: Impression Obsession/CL528.
Stitched frame die: Lawn Fawn.
Sentiment: Taylored Expressions/Big bold thanks.
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black.
Markers: Copics.
Die cutting tool: Cuttlebug/Provo Craft.

10!

We have a Birthday boy in the house today.......Happy 10 years old to you, son.....

I wish for you so many things, but the most important wish is for you to be happy and to never give up.  Never, ever let anyone tell you you can not strive and succeed in your life.  Perhaps you are too young to understand this now....but you will.

You are much loved.......Mom....

Holidays are a hoot.....

I went for funky and cute today with this card.  Whooo doesn't love owls, right?

Holidays are a hoot

The owls and sentiment and snowflake stamps are from Avocado Arts called Winter Fun! It's such a cute set and perfect for the holidays.  You know I love non-traditional colors for Christmas, and combinations of purples, pinks, greens, and blues fit the bill! I'll be back later with some more fun with Mama Elephant stamps, Taylored Expressions, and some floral, gratitude cards that are simply long overdue.  Until then, enjoy the remainder of your week!

Markers: Copics.
Stamps: Avocado Arts/Winter Fun.
Textured purple cardstock: Doodlebug Designs.

Winter Song

I had posted just a snippet of this card a while back on all of my social media platforms but haven't really posted the full card here.  The image - It is called Winter Song by Penny Black.

Thank you

It's a really beautiful scenery and I can imagine it being used in so many ways, including the watercoloring I did with variations of deep red to oranges and yellows.  The wonderful Jill Foster who designs for Penny Black, had kindly posted my card on the Penny Black FaceBook page, and boy, did she stir up some commotion on my card.  She's such a sweetie! I had no idea how much attention this card got on their FB page, and then I turned around and I was pleasantly bombarded with comments in my email and comments on my Flickr page.....the response was amazing. Thank you for all of you who enjoyed my card. I really appreciated that.

I mixed together some Tim Holtz inks and gently brushed on the strokes.  I also used a cool grey copic marker for the shading areas on the trees and in the snow.  I then matted the entire image onto another white cardstock base.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from an older set I have from Hero Arts.

If I'm not back with a card before Thanksgiving, just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends and family in the states who are celebrating.  Enjoy with your loved ones.

Supplies:
Stamp: Penny Black/Winter Song/40-339
Neenah Solar White.
Copic Marker.
Tim Holtz Inks.
Sentiment Stamp: Hero Art.
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Versafine Onyx Black.

Cherry Blossom

Oh my goodness, you all must be tired of my birds/nature cards lately! I promise I will switch gears and do some traditional x-mas cards designs at some point. :) I made this a while back and am now just posting. This bird stamp is called Cherry Blossom and I decided I really needed it colored in lavender, with a mix of orange and light yellow:

IMG_5906

I just love a mix of colors against a crisp, white background. It truly is the essence of simplicity.  That's all for today. Have a beautiful week!

Stamp: Stampabilities/Cherry Blossom/960997-KR.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Markers: Copics.
Stitched die frame: Lawn Fawn.

Baby Bella AND a winner.....

Hello. I'm back with a needed little baby card for a girl.  Isn't 'Bella' just the prettiest name ever..... :)...

Baby Bella

There is no stamping or distressing or embossing or watercoloring on this....I know - bummer. :) But this card is exactly how I wanted it and it uses elements from just one kit: Echo Park's Bundle of Joy by Alisha Gordon.

I love this kit, it's an older one from 2013, but the colors are really soft and sweet! Really simple design.

And I better announce the winner from my last post - the "Getting to Know Me Blog Hop".  I left off one person who didn't want to participate in the drawing, so with that.....my random integer gives the prize to:

Deirdre said...

Congratulations, Deirdre! I will contact you for your mailing address and will get out your package ASAP! ENJOY!

Getting to Know Me Blog Hop & a Give-A-Way!

Hello Friends! Something a little different today, I'm sure many of you have noticed the "Getting to Know Me Blog Hop' fun that has been circling around many crafty blogs.  Well, I was tagged by the lovely and very talented Alice Wertz to play along.  Don't forget to reach the bottom of the post for a small giveaway as well! So here are my answers to the questions asked:

Question 1: What creative projects are you currently working on?

Right now, I have this beautiful image from Penny Black stamped, it's called Winter Song, I'll color it soon:

Question 2: What Inspires Your Designs?

Really, anything!  I can be inspired by reading a book, by listening to music, by going out into public and people watching.  I love to inhale color combinations when I go inside a store, perhaps a banner that is hanging or a insignia on a building.  I may be inspired by what someone is wearing, what they are doing, or even what they are eating! Inspiration truly is everywhere! And I love to think 'out-of-the-box', when I'm challenged with an idea.

Question 3: What Method/Process do you apply to each of your creative projects, and how long does each project take to complete?

99% of the time, I design purely as I go, I never sketch, ever! I will doodle and sketch for fun, but never when I'm about to make a card or layout.  I usually will know the colors I want to use and then choose either the stamp or whatever the product will be to go around those colors. I love to mix and match products and different manufacturers and techniques if I can - all into one design.  I like to take no longer than 1 hour on a card. And no longer than 2 hours for a Scrapbook page or an altered artwork.

Question 4: If you had to describe your 'signature' style, what would it be?

I love everything about designing and am flexible with all mediums but if I had to choose, I believe I gear more towards 'Vintage', soft and delicate, and florals the most.

Question 5: What are 3 crafting products/tools you can't live without?

a) My Cuttlebug - it cuts everything.  I only have one machine and I'm perfectly ok with it even though there are tons of other products out there.

b) My corner rounder from EK Success.
c) Glossy Accents.  I use it as an adhesive as well when tape adhesive runs out.

I would now like to tag a friend.  Now you know, I know so many crafty friends and I love every one of them.  They all inspire me in different ways and for different reasons.  But I will tag this girl, because she was one of the first few people who inspired me to submit some of my work for publication.  She truly is an artist! Go take a look at Cindy Lee's blog and check out her work.  She lives all the way over in Malaysia and she creates cards and lovely, soft, and dreamy looking Scrapbook layouts that will simply melt your heart.  I've known Cindy for a long time now and am still in awe of her work. She will be posting her answers to the same set of questions next Monday, November 3.  So don't forget to hop on over to her blog!

If you've made it this far ~ then here is a peek at the giveaway.  I did something to make it more fun. I stacked everything and you'll just have to be surprised should you be the winner.  I must say - perhaps the one at the very bottom (from Taylored Expressions) is the biggest surprise. ;)) Open to all.  Leave a comment for your chance to win.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your week!

It's that time of the year....

......Christmas is only 2.5 months away and I have gotten an early start on my end-of-year Thank You/Christmas cards. I never do them this early, trust me, this can't be real. I made a few variations of each of these stamps.  Coloring was done with my copic markers:

IMG_3519

Both bird stamps are from Stampendous.  For the first one, I kept it very simple with the focus only on the image.

For the second one, pretty straightforward as well but with a dash of patterned paper and very limited embellishments.  I had previously used a stencil as a background for this card, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I scrapped that idea!!

Keeping it short and simple today. Got to run. Have a great day everyone!

Supplies:
Stamps: Stampendous (nestled birds).

Rectangle stitched die frames: Lawn Fawn.
Clear gems.
Cardstock: Neenah.
Patterened Paper: Studio Calico.

Wonderful in every way...

This card will be going to a very special person in my life. And, appropriately so, this person is truly 'wonderful in every way'. I am lucky to be surrounded by such caring people in this world! I mixed a bunch of my favorite products onto this card including a die from MFT, a Lawn Fawn rectangle die, and a sentiment from Mama Elephant:

wonderful in every way

I did a lot of die cutting, and coloring with my copic markers, and laying out the pieces of the flowers after I was finished cutting them out.  I also overloaded the card with lots of glossy accents....one of my favorite things to do:

Added a touch of patterned paper on the layering of the card base and added my pearls and some more pinches of glossy accents to complete the card.

Hope your Monday got off to a good start!

Flower and leaf/stem dies: MFT/Die-namics/Lily.

Thinking of You Lovely

Hello, my friends! I'm back with a little card today.  It looks like I was on a hiatus from crafting for a bit.  I needed to prioritize some personal things in my life.......and I have certainly missed card making terribly! Just a note....to say get well soon

Wow! Where did July go? I am in disbelief that more than half the year has passed us by.  I'm not ready for another year to end so quickly. It's been a busy day, but I did get to unwind a bit at the end of my evening and dive into my supplies.  I played with distress stains, a silhouette, and a vintage look:

just a note to say get well soon

I kind of had an idea what I was going for with my main colors as brown and yellow - and some scattered pinks/reds.

I don't own too many stamps from Jillibean Soup but I adore this set called 'Just a Note', with the sentiment and scalloped frame.

I distressed a white doily and the journaling card with Tim Holtz distress stains. Lots of layering with some pp and I dressed up my silhouette image with 'her' little jewels.

Patterned Papers: Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.

We may be miles apart....

Be still my little heart....I crafted today.  I did some multitasking and cooked up this multi-layered card while I was making dinner. I colored in some miniature people:

we may be miles apart...

The little girl image and flowers, sentiment, butterfly trail, and grass belongs in one set called 'In my heart' from Mama Elephant. It's an adorable set and great for friendship cards and for little girl themes.

I used some very delicate patterned papers from WP for a little background color.  I finished off the look with some cute, pastel twine!

And......to finish off this post....how would you like to see another blog give-a-way from me in the very near future?? August is my birthday month....I'll be turning the BIG 4-4.....whooooo, and I was thinking of doing a fun give-a-way!! Let me know what you would like to see....what is trending, what would you want to be included in the give-a-way? It's been a while so this will be tons of fun! Until then, keep a look out for the give-a-way post!!

Have a good week!

all smiles

Well, hello there....it's a beautiful day in southern Calif. - actually, it's been beautiful weather all week, hope you are all enjoying your summer days! I colored in these flowers a few days back and haven't had a chance to place them on a card until today:

all smiles

Once again, kind of sticking with softer, yet brighter colors like pink and yellow fused together.  The floral stamps and the yellow polka dotted pp is from Lawn Fawn! I colored in the flowers and the leaves with copics.

The leaf die cut that is placed behind the flowers is from Memory Box and is called Fresh Foliage. Such a versatile die!  The sentiment is from this Mama Elephant set called Bountiful Blessings.

I also used an embossing folder from Anna Griffin for the dry embossing to give the white cardstock a little texture. Hope this card makes you smile!

Enjoy the rest of your week. Take Care!

Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Leaf Die: Memory Box/Fresh Foliage.

Butterfly Flutter

Good evening! It's Monday and I'm back with a very soft - one layer, watercoloring card.  It's super delicate and is really as soft as is shown in this photo.

Butterfly Flutter

I used this butterfly STENCIL from Memory Box. Mixed up green inks, yellows, and light pinks to color in the butterflies and the surrounding bubbles.

I stamped tiny bits of floral stamps from Mama Elephants Bountiful Blessings set.  I did some masking and then stamped the sentiment, also from the same set, using Memento inks.

I scattered some matching pink pearls to finish off the look.  That's it for today. Hope you all had a wonderful start to your week!

Supplies:
Stencil: Memory Box/Butterfly Flutter.
Cardstock: Neenah.
Corner Rounder.
Floral stamp, leaves, and sentiment: Mama Elephant/Bountiful Blessings.

And....it's a wrap....

Hi all!  I'm back with a very quick and sweet little card.  I'm so pressed for time and haven't had a lot of crafty moments on hand but just to be able to sit down for a bit today and make something simple and happy is always good....

I adore you

The pretty floral patterned paper is actually wrapping paper from Hazel and Ruby, a new, cute company with lots of yummy goodies.  Check out their blog HERE.  I took a small piece of the floral pattern and adhered to the white cardstock.  A different feel to it, since wrapping paper is very delicate, you have to be really careful with adhesive so as to not have it make the wrapping paper uneven or clumpy looking.

The sentiment is from Avery Elle and I used a small strip of paper for the scalloped edge from Simple Stories.  For my friends and family who are celebrating in the states, I hope you all have a wonderful and very safe 4th of July holiday!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Dark pink patterned paper: Simple Stories/Vintage Bliss.
Wrapping paper: Hazel and Ruby/Pretty Floral.
Scallop Edge punch: EK Success.
Sentiment: Avery Elle.
Clay resin: Webster's Pages.
Crochet flower and metal hair pin: Recollections.
Paper doily: Martha Stewart.
Black Ink: Versafine Onyx Black.

June Guest Designing

Hello there and Happy Friday! Today, I am guest designing for the very talented Mariana Grigsby! If you haven't checked out her website, you should! She is A-mazing and many of her projects will blow you away!  I first got to know Mariana in the Hero Arts Flickr group and our love for Hero Arts products back in 2009.  She's always been an inspiration to me and I hope to meet her someday.

Here is the inspiration photo that I was to work with:

Isn't it a great combination of colors and love the manly theme.  Check out her post to see the card that I whipped up from this inspiration photo!  Great fun and a great challenge!!

I'll be back next week with some more fun coloring! Until then, have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Spring Tulips

Hi all! Hope you are all well and happy! How's your summer going? Most likely just as busy and crazy as mine. ;)  I did some coloring today on a Taylored Expressions stamp set called Spring Tulips:

Friends are flowers...

Oh, how I wanted something so simple and yet, delicate at the same time.  I initially was going to color the tulips in yellow but decided at the last minute to change it to purple and match with its complementary color on the yellow cardstock.

I gave the floral vase a light bluish hue for the water.  I'll definitely be experimenting with these tulips in other colors. See you....time for me to go cook dinner and finish out another busy week ahead. (Oh, and speaking of food...all my foodies out there, if you have any great ideas for summer recipes, send/email them over to me, would love to hear what fun dishes you make for these hot summer days).

I'll be back with a manly card soon.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Notecards from Lawn Fawn (Sunflower).
Tulip and sentiment stamp: Taylored Expressions/Spring Tulips.
Black ink: Versafine Onyx Black.
Markers: Copics.
Pearls: Kaiserscrapbook.

Rounding out the year....a little break...and other mentions

Hello friends! I'm back with a little post....seems like forever since I've written anything on the old blog-o.  Life has been super busy, I must admit...how are you all doing?  Most of you have finished school?? We still have 1 more week to go...then summer school will start for us shortly afterwards.  Regardless, I am always spending my time with this little dude and loving it:

Anyhow, I haven't had a lot of mojo for craftiness lately, hence the lack of projects... so just popping in today to share little tidbits here. We had our Spring Concert which occurred today. Yay! It was so much fun! I love watching this guy sing....one of his strengths, and he loves music class and chorus:

He looks like he is in pain in this pic below...lol...but really, I think he just wants the camera out of his face....ugh.... ;)

Spring concert 2014

And this photo makes me *giggle*, the shirt.....it stayed tucked inside for no more than 5 min. :) Boys and their chemises and ties....priceless.

I will be taking a short break from blogging to accomplish some other things but will be back on June 27 with a little something fun!  Until then, you know where to catch me...most likely hanging around on Twitter or IG!  Have a good one, everyone! See you in a few weeks!!  Take care!

hello, beautiful

Mini cards really make me happy!! This card is only 4.5 x 4.5 and I must say I'm itching to make more mini cards now, it's fun to play around with the size and still make it a complete design.  Are you tired of seeing me use this flower set? I love it too much!!

hello, beautiful

The last time I used this set, I colored the florals with a pastel look to them. This time, I decided to really go with much bolder colors...give them some pizzazz and umphh!  I layered them and popped up the top two flowers with double sided adhesive.

The fun little sprinkle dots are from DD.  And I added glossy accents on the card for a finished look!  So simple and it makes me happy, indeed!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Floral stamps, sentiment, and coordinating dies: Mama Elephant/Simon Says Stamp - Summer Garden.
Markers: Copics.
Sprinkle dot adhesives: Doodlebug Designs.
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black and Memento Tuxedo Black.

you ARE....brilliant, strong, you are a dreamer....

Good evening, friends! I've been working on some layouts, and finally finished up this one....it took me a little longer than I normally like to spend on a LO, there were so many little tidbits, and tiny die-cut pieces flying everywhere...plus I had difficulty with placement of my elements... but all was well 3 hrs. later {{Yikes}} ;)).

you ARE....

I wanted this to be very light-hearted and did a little stamping in the background with a designblock stamp from Hero Arts, used lots of die-cutting and freehand trimmed the kite.  I also stamped a favorite sentiment on the cloud from Ali Edwards/Technique Tuesday.

Doesn't he look older in this photo? Fun to do a side-by-side comparison. The one on the right, he was 3 yrs. old, oh my!  There was a time where I thought he was going to be little forever. He's really changed, hasn't he? His hair color back then was such a lighter brown...it's so fascinating to watch our children grow.....that's it for today!
Enjoy the upcoming week!

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts - S5033.  Ali Edwards/TT - Love, Ali.
Blue ink: Jenni Bowlin/Soap Powder.

Watercoloring and florals

Hello everyone! Wow, it's been over a week since I've blogged, and it feels like forever....it's good to be back!!  How are you all doing?  For the longest time, I've always loved to doodle and I do it A LOT, anywhere I can where I'm just sitting waiting for someone, at an office, at a store, I've even doodled while waiting in my car.   I'm in no way an illustrator, I simply do not know how to draw but when I doodle, I draw mostly flowers and such, they are not perfect, but it's fun to experiment. Anyways, with all the inspiration out there with watercoloring lately, I thought I would paint some of the doodling I've been creating:

hello

I took my son's paintbrushes and watercoloring set and just freehand illustrated these flowers above.  It's hard to paint and get the right edges on your image, this took awhile and I need LOTS more practice, but it is so fun working with watercolor.

Here is a single flower I drew with a paintbrush last night:

Hoping to get in some more practicing this weekend. Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Supplies:
Paintbrushes and Crayola Watercoloring set.
Patterned Paper: Graphic45.
"hello" die: Small Hello die/Simon Says Stamp.
Cardstock: Neenah and DCWV.

Who says boys don't like flowers?

Today was a busy day....and with Mother's Day coming up and a wedding in our family all this weekend, there is a lot of fun to be had.  Mix it all in with daily activities and my love for photography and crafting.....well, I wanted to get in another photo shoot of Chris.  Here are some outtakes.....I took a lot of photos.... A-lot...

And after sitting down and going through them all (lots of cute ones and lots of silly ones too), I decided to scrap this one:

Oh Happy Day

I used a Mama Elephants/Simon Says Stamp set called Summer Garden and its coordinating die set for the flowers. Little tidbits were added from MS, Elle's Studio, TC, and Graphic45.

I colored in all of the flowers and leaves with a blend of lavender and pink copic markers to match the bouquet that Chris is holding.

This makes me smile......and if I'm not back by Sunday to blog, I wish for all the moms out there a very beautiful, beautiful Mother's Day with your loved ones!! Hope your day is very special this weekend!

Cheers!

a little gift inside...

Hello friends! Continuing on this week with the 'little' things for our teachers, for National Teacher's Appreciation Week.  For tomorrows gift for the teacher, we are to 'Bring them an apple'. ;) I'll reveal what I did for the 'apple' part a little later. Last year,  I brought C's teacher an apple pie ~ so I changed it up a bit this yr. ;) Below, however, is a SUPER quick decoration on the gift bag.

a little gift inside

And, seriously, this was very quick since I was a little pressed for time today.  Anyone can do this - in 10 minutes:

  1. Take a small, glassine bag, decorate the entire front with one sheet of your favorite patterned papers.
  2. Stamp a simple sentiment on a tag.
  3. Enclose the gift, wrap a small doily on top of the folded bag. Punch a hole directly through the doily and bag.
  4. Tie the twine through the hole and attach tag.
  5. Add butterfly clothespin.
  6. Adhere two paper flowers on top of tag.

Love super easy decorations and it still dresses up the plain bag just a touch.

Supplies:
Sentiment stamp: Mama Elephant/Confetti.
Patterned Paper: Graphic45.
Craft supply: Paper flowers, glassine bag (cooking/bakery section of store), manilla tag, doily.
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black.
Hole puncher.

just for you

It's Monday....my most favorite day of the week, it really is....I know, most people think I'm strange for loving Monday's, but I really do!  I whip out all I need to do today and then the rest of my week is pretty easy.  Anyhow....did you know? It's National Teacher Appreciation Week....yay..... and each day, we do a little 'something' to say 'Thank You' for our child's teacher...

just for you

Here is a card for Chris' teacher for him to bring to her tomorrow....I always make him write his own words on the inside of the card and he actually helps me create the outside. Sometimes I let him use my C-bug to cut the dies, and he really likes it!  He's very precise and loves to get some of the dies cut just right. ;)   I used a fun stencil from Penny Black, a new butterfly die from Memory Box that I'm really loving right now.  I went for total simplicity on this card.

I added tiny little glossy accents - if you can see it....near the top of the butterfly and streaming up to the sentiment....love that little bit of subtle shine it gives.

Have a great week!

Supplies:
Butterfly die: Memory Box/Lunette Butterfly.

Distress Inks: Tim Holtz.
Sentiment: Mama Elephant/Simon Says Stamp/Summer Garden.

Grandma......

Well, hello there! I've been so busy this week, that I haven't really had time to play and create until tonight.....are you all ready for Mother's Day yet?  Not just for Moms but Grandmas are definitely moms too:

grandma

This card uses some yummy new floral stamps, coordinating dies, a bit of dry embossing, and I did some copic coloring on the flowers and the leaves as well.  For the trio of colors on the word 'grandma', I simply took 3 copic markers of red, orange, and yellow and blended them together on a sheet of white paper.  I, then, took the word die - placed it over the colors and cut it out.

Did I tell you I just adore this time of the year....lots of bright colors, sunshine, and flowers everywhere!!  Get your sunglasses on, I may have a lot of projects coming up with lots of sunny colors!! Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day, who is celebrating and creating? I will try to pull out a layout this weekend if possible! And....are you on Twitter?  If you are, let's get the word out and get #NSD and #nationalscrapbookingday trending....Yay!!

Enjoy your weekend!

happy spring

Happy Day! It's Friday and today, I've made a fun, shaped card using Mama Elephant's Creative Cuts Die called Landscape Trio...and I can see it being used for so many other ideas, so I've been making edges on my cards and layouts....like this one:

happy spring

I went for the 'cute' theme and since I haven't colored in a while, decided to pull out my Copic Markers and mix and matched some stamps from Taylored Expressions and Cas-ual Friday Stamps. Hope this card puts a smile on your face.....have a great weekend!

Hello Friend

I used this fun die from MFT/Die-namics called Chicken Wire.  I'm still way in love with the new Graphic45 paper pack called Botanical Tea Collection, so I used it in abundance on this card.  No stamping whatsoever, I kept it easy.....finished this card within 20 minutes.

Hope you have a wonderful, crafty day! Take care! xo

Live every moment....love everyday

Hello! I dabbled in a bit of watercoloring and distress inks today with a yummy new stencil.  I needed another wedding card too....for a family member coming up soon. ;))

live every moment love everyday

Since the bride's colors are a deep purple with hints of grey/black, I decided to make the card for the couple in the same hues.  A very classic design, simple and straightforward.  The stencil is from Penny Black and the sentiment is from Mama Elephant's Everyday Greetings set.  Don't you just love that sentiment?  Hard to tell, but I did the gradient effect here and made the bottom part of the stencil darker than the top. I always go from darkest at the bottom to most delicate going upward.

Supplies:
Stencil: Penny Black/Promenade.
Sentiment stamp: Mama Elephant/Everyday Greetings.
Patterned Papers: Basic Grey.
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Distress Inks: Tim Holtz/Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender.
Pearls: KaiserScrapbook.
Black Ink: Versafine Onyx Black.
Ribbon: Local scrapbook store.

Self Documentation

With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I find that we are always challenged to capture the images and memories of others, all of our loved ones and friends combined....and I absolutely love doing that so much.... but do you ever take a moment to create something just for yourself? Something to document the things that YOU like?  And it doesn't have to be anything significant, just perhaps a hobby you enjoy, your favorite foods....or maybe...one of your favorite colors:

the color PINK

Can you believe I actually opted for a 12 x 12 for this LO? I have probably three or four, at most, 'self' layouts that I've created throughout the years.  I got to use some new goodies today....when I saw this new patterned paper from Graphic 45, I knew just what to do with it.  Perfect spring time colors! The colors on this collection is breathtaking!  Also, the new curved and scalloped dies from Mama Elephant that I used as a border on top and bottom there....LOVE!  I'm imagining many uses for this die set.

Also used another die from Memory Box, the leaf die you see on the left side of the LO.  If you would like to see a close-up detail of this layout, you may click on the photo and it will take you to a zoom shot on Flickr.

I would love to finish up one for the rest of my family and get all of these framed and hung up on our walls.

I'll be back later with a lavender inspired wedding card! ;))  Have a great weekend everyone! And for all of my friends celebrating Easter, I wish you a wonderful holiday!
