Friends 4 Ever.....Me + You

So....I didn't think I'd be back so soon after Christmas, but here I am. ;))  Couldn't stay away from my crafty supplies.   Who adores Valentine's Day? Raise your hands.....I's fun...and it's fun for seeing the joy on their faces when they receive Valentine's from their classmates.  Here's a card I made using the same Lawn Fawn set I used to make holiday cards:

I love that one set can be so versatile for different occasions! Can't wait to make more Valentine's cards.  Take care and have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

It's that time of the year, where I try to capture our family portraits and I love to see how Chris has grown up with each passing moment throughout our lives.  We took literally hundreds of photos today.  Husband helped so much with all of the photos.  I will not show them all.  There were so many.  Here are two of them I will share:

And I LOVE lots of greenery in the background!! The park is such the best place to go for beautiful surroundings:

I wish for you all a very magical Christmas holiday with your family. And may your 2014 be the happiest in memories!  I probably won't be back to regular card making until after the New Year.  Going to spend some time with my little one while he is off on holiday break.

Mother....I am not lucky, I am blessed

Hello friends! I'm back with a floral card today.  Following the holidays, the rush of many Birthdays start for my family and friends - and the very first birthday in January is my mom's.  Each year, I try to make her something special and sometimes make a few designs before I decide which one to give her:

She loves lavender like I do, and flowers....just like me. ;)  So color is a given but the design, I always struggle with.  For this background, I very lightly inked an old HA background stamp called Misty Garden Pattern.  I purposely inked it so lightly as to not really see it so the focus could be on the mums.  The mum stamps are from THIS set.  I colored the mums with my copic markers, and free-hand illustrated the stems. Thought it would be fun to perch the mums on stems. The leaves were pre-made.

I matted the stamped background onto purple cardstock and did some layering with a patterned paper and the rest is pretty straightforward.

Are you finished with Christmas preparations?  I'm almost done with my shopping for family.  I'm happy I made some Christmas cards this year and actually sent some out.  Oh my!  A total of 82 handwritten and hand stamped cards, world record for me, but I'm glad I took the time to just get it done! ;)  Have a wonderful week!

More Christmas cards....

.....for lack of a better title! ;) Hi everyone! How are you all doing? It's been a crazy hectic week for I'm sure it is the same for you, as we all prepare to spend the holidays with our loved ones. I'm here to quickly share with you the last few sets of cards I made.  Up until now, you've seen me use this Mama Elephant set and this Hero Arts Tree silhouette many times in various designs, but today, thought I'd mix them together to create this:

in the lane2

I've always loved using a mix of reds, burnt oranges, and yellows to create a sunset background for x-mas cards.  This one above uses 4 different blended inks for the background.  After the colors were blended, I added the deer, and the birds.  And here is one in classic red and green....a color combo I don't use often for Christmas cards, I like to use blues, purples, and pinks the most!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours2

The one above also incorporates 4 shades of green from light to dark.  All in all, I think I'm done for the moment. :) Have a wonderful tomorrow!

Cardstock: Neenah Solar White.
Birds, deer stamps: Mama Elephant/Winter Wonderland.
Tree Silhouette: Hero Arts.
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black.  Memento.
Solid colored paper: Doodlebug Designs.

A Winter Wedding...

I don't know of too many couples who have a wedding in December but the thought of it is rather a neat idea! I did need a wedding card for this month, and my go-to colors for this design is ultra light and delicately simple:

Congratulations on your special day

I think my favorite part is the ribbon. It is a soft, crepe material. ;)) I still have a few more Christmas cards to make and hopefully finish up by next week. Hope you are all having a great day and are enjoying your weekend!

Thanks ever so much

Hey everyone!  How are you all doing with Christmas cards? I'm winding down mine and have sent out most of them already, just a few more to go.  In the meantime, switching gears real quick as I needed a 'Thank You' card for a friend:

Thanks ever so much

The patterned papers are already intricate so I didn't want to overpower this card with too many embellishments.  So I decided on a small cluster at the top, right hand corner, a scalloped bottom edge......and stamped the sentiment - that was the finishing touch.

Enjoy the remainder of your week!
