Friends 4 Ever.....Me + You

So....I didn't think I'd be back so soon after Christmas, but here I am. ;))  Couldn't stay away from my crafty supplies.   Who adores Valentine's Day? Raise your hands.....I's fun...and it's fun for seeing the joy on their faces when they receive Valentine's from their classmates.  Here's a card I made using the same Lawn Fawn set I used to make holiday cards:

I love that one set can be so versatile for different occasions! Can't wait to make more Valentine's cards.  Take care and have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

It's that time of the year, where I try to capture our family portraits and I love to see how Chris has grown up with each passing moment throughout our lives.  We took literally hundreds of photos today.  Husband helped so much with all of the photos.  I will not show them all.  There were so many.  Here are two of them I will share:

And I LOVE lots of greenery in the background!! The park is such the best place to go for beautiful surroundings:

I wish for you all a very magical Christmas holiday with your family. And may your 2014 be the happiest in memories!  I probably won't be back to regular card making until after the New Year.  Going to spend some time with my little one while he is off on holiday break.

Mother....I am not lucky, I am blessed

Hello friends! I'm back with a floral card today.  Following the holidays, the rush of many Birthdays start for my family and friends - and the very first birthday in January is my mom's.  Each year, I try to make her something special and sometimes make a few designs before I decide which one to give her:

She loves lavender like I do, and flowers....just like me. ;)  So color is a given but the design, I always struggle with.  For this background, I very lightly inked an old HA background stamp called Misty Garden Pattern.  I purposely inked it so lightly as to not really see it so the focus could be on the mums.  The mum stamps are from THIS set.  I colored the mums with my copic markers, and free-hand illustrated the stems. Thought it would be fun to perch the mums on stems. The leaves were pre-made.

I matted the stamped background onto purple cardstock and did some layering with a patterned paper and the rest is pretty straightforward.

Are you finished with Christmas preparations?  I'm almost done with my shopping for family.  I'm happy I made some Christmas cards this year and actually sent some out.  Oh my!  A total of 82 handwritten and hand stamped cards, world record for me, but I'm glad I took the time to just get it done! ;)  Have a wonderful week!

More Christmas cards....

.....for lack of a better title! ;) Hi everyone! How are you all doing? It's been a crazy hectic week for I'm sure it is the same for you, as we all prepare to spend the holidays with our loved ones. I'm here to quickly share with you the last few sets of cards I made.  Up until now, you've seen me use this Mama Elephant set and this Hero Arts Tree silhouette many times in various designs, but today, thought I'd mix them together to create this:

in the lane2

I've always loved using a mix of reds, burnt oranges, and yellows to create a sunset background for x-mas cards.  This one above uses 4 different blended inks for the background.  After the colors were blended, I added the deer, and the birds.  And here is one in classic red and green....a color combo I don't use often for Christmas cards, I like to use blues, purples, and pinks the most!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours2

The one above also incorporates 4 shades of green from light to dark.  All in all, I think I'm done for the moment. :) Have a wonderful tomorrow!

A Winter Wedding...

I don't know of too many couples who have a wedding in December but the thought of it is rather a neat idea! I did need a wedding card for this month, and my go-to colors for this design is ultra light and delicately simple:

Congratulations on your special day

I think my favorite part is the ribbon. It is a soft, crepe material. ;)) I still have a few more Christmas cards to make and hopefully finish up by next week. Hope you are all having a great day and are enjoying your weekend!

Thanks ever so much

Hey everyone!  How are you all doing with Christmas cards? I'm winding down mine and have sent out most of them already, just a few more to go.  In the meantime, switching gears real quick as I needed a 'Thank You' card for a friend:

Thanks ever so much

The patterned papers are already intricate so I didn't want to overpower this card with too many embellishments.  So I decided on a small cluster at the top, right hand corner, a scalloped bottom edge......and stamped the sentiment - that was the finishing touch.

Enjoy the remainder of your week!

For those of you who know me, you know I absolutely adore Vintage/Shabby Chic designs - that incorporates a little bit of a romantic look.  There is something about these type of cards that makes me happy and calm.

Sis...Today is your day

I was in the mood for yellows and whites today. And pretty much everything I have on this card I dug out of my current stash, nothing is new.  Just some simple layering of elements.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!  We put up our tree today and C's Birthday is tomorrow, so excited and so is he!! :))

Pink and Chocolate

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating in the states today! Hope you are enjoying time with your family and are thankful for this day.  We finished up our festivities - my boys were relaxing so I snuck away to get some crafting time in and to address a few more holiday envelopes.  This one I made with a color combo of Pink and Chocolate.

Merry Christmas to you and yours

Boy, I just can't get away from this tree silhouette.  I've used it so much this year but I love it! You know I wanted to add so much more to this design including some pearls, but I decided to keep it flat for ease of mailing.  It still turned out as softly simplistic as I had hoped for. Enjoy the remainder of your holiday!

Snowman Tag

This tiny little tag was a true labor of love, lots of fun details and took me a while to make (isn't it funny the smaller the design, the more time consuming! ;)).  I used the Embellished Tag/Creative Cuts die from Mama Elephant, for the letters, green tag, and twine hole:

Snowman Tag

The snowman was from Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends set where you can mix and match your snowman all sorts of cute ways.

The snow is dry embossed with an Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug Folder.  Finished off with some coloring and embellishments. Have a beautiful week, I may be back with some more cards before November is done.

Hello! I needed a little break from Christmas cards - so I switched to a sympathy card that I needed. I love using the gradient technique on stamps.  For this flower stamp, I used 4 different palettes of lavender to create the flow of dark to soft colors, starting at the bottom of the stems:

With Sympathy

The floral stamp is an older one from Penny Black and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. Quick, easy, delicate for a sympathy design.

Hope your weekend is wonderful!!  Stay warm wherever you are!

Winter Wonderland

Hello friends! I was in the mood for anything bluish/light green/and white today, so I made 4 cards all in the same color scheme with different embellies:

Winter Wonderland

I tried just focusing on these colors only and not adding too much of another color.  Oh, and pssst....mostly all older products in my stash, but you can still make good things with old use up your supplies. ;) Must run now. Will be back later.  Have a good one and enjoy your week!

in the lane the snow is glistening

I used some super yummy pastel inks for these CAS cards. There's really nothing quite like simple when you are mass producing. I have made some more intricate cards that took longer, but for the most part, keeping things small and stress free for the holidays is the way to go:

in the lane the snow is glistening

For the tree stamp, I used moss green, lavender, and not shown, a Hero Arts pink shadow ink.  The silhouette cling stamp is THIS one from HA.

The last one....

Hi all! I'm still working on holiday cards right now.  Don't have anything new to share at the moment but thought I'd post one of my last submitted cards that was published in the October issue of CARDS.  Here was my original card in THIS post.  And here is the photo in the magazine:

OctPub1 - miss you

I always love the way the cards and projects are staged, so pretty. Thanks to my sweet friend, Cindy Lee, for providing the photo for me.  I'll be back with some more Christmas fun and I'm off to address more envelopes! Do you like hand addressing your envelopes? Favorite part for me......Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hello and happy weekend, everyone! I had a bit of time for a quick card tonight.  You can't have Christmas without some pink in it. This snowman makes me happy:

wishing you a bright & sparkling holiday season

Happy Friday! I'm digging out a classic favorite of mine - the Winking Reindeer from Hero Arts, oh, how I love this little gal, I'll call her a girl since I put a little bow around her neck:

sleigh bells ring

I also paired her with a sentiment and frame dies from Mama Elephant. And I had to add the red gem for her nose.   Simple and sweet.

Do you ever dig in your supplies for older stamps and see what you already own?! There could be some good finds! ;)

Sparkle and shine this joyous holiday season

Today, I was inspired by the very talented Emily Leiphart, if you haven't seen her designs, you must check them out, she is one artistic lady! I loved this card that she made a while back and wanted to case a version of it.  Isn't it beautiful? The soft and delicate pink background and the entire serenity of this design is so appealing.  And here is my spin on her card:

Inspired by Emily - Sparkle and shine this joyous holiday season

I decided to use a blue for my background, with Tim Holtz's Tumble Glass distress ink.  I sponged the ink onto the white cardstock after I heat embossed the two tree limbs.

I chose blue and kraft for this color scheme.  I also used a tiny bird stamp and ornament stamp for the tree limb.  The tree, deers, bird, ornament, antler, snowflake, and sentiment stamps are all from this Mama Elephant set called Winter Wonderland.  The scalloped border comes from this set called Femme Frames - Creative Cuts.

This Winter Wonderland set will be perfect for tags and other card ideas too, so many elements you can use from it, can't wait to play with it more.  Thanks, Emily!

I hope you were all inspired by someone today!

Thinking of You Sympathy

Unfortunately for us crafters, there is a need to create a card for a sad occasion. I like to keep my sympathy cards extremely simple with a straightforward, classic design:

Thinking of You Sympathy Card

The floral stamp is from this set called Water Blooms, and the large sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts called Fancy Basics.

I stamped the blooms in a soft canteloupe color from Memento. Basic layering of coordinating colors and a matching ribbon, and the card is complete. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend.

Hello friends, and Happy Friday evening! Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Todays card features some new stamps and dies from Mama Elephant:

Hello I Miss Your Face

The scalloped frame and smaller punched line frame, mums stamps, tag die, and sentiment are all from Mama Elephant.  For the tag, I dry embossed it with my Anna Griffin die from Cricut/Cuttlebug.

I stamped the mums in a 'red grape' ink. It is such a juicy ink, gave it a real nice, deep impression. Love the font on the sentiment.  Enjoy, and can you believe it's November??

May your home be filled with the joys of the season

Playing with some more dies today....One of my first holiday cards of the season...I really hope to make more and actually send some out this year. I've failed to do holiday cards in the past years.  This one I kept really simple.  It is a large Snowflake die from Hero Arts:

may your home be filled with the joys of the season

I used two, deep blue inks for the snowflake and sponged the outer edges with a darker pink ink. Added a few pearls, a patterned paper and my sentiment.  I was going to do a fancier looking sentiment but decided to keep this really simple.

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead!

I make so many girly cards, that I forget how nice it is to make a manly card every now and then, a card that a guy might appreciate.  The colors on here reflect the autumn season that we seem to have come upon recently:

Hello there, handsome

I had some new chalk inks that I really wanted to use and the color on this leaf stamp is my new favorite brown, yummy! It shows up kind of red on this card, but it's actually a deep, rustic brown. Don't you love new and fresh inks?!

Sweetheart - Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello there! Well, I didn't think I would be able to make a card for WCMD! But I was happy to be able to sit down and put together a vintage design tonight:

I'm really trying to be a little more random and free spirited with my designs, whether it be stamping, die cutting, or just collaging together some of my favorite thing I'll never tire of is the use of doilies and for this card, I layered two doilies for a thicker look, folded them almost in half, and clipped them together with a wooden clip.  All pp's for the butterflies, background, and leaves were used with one paper set, so convenient! ;)

Hope you were all able to get crafty today.

Dearest Friend

It's small and packed with a lot of goodies.  I used some fabric letters, strung my twine through each letter, scrunched it a little and tied a knot at both ends.  Threw on some things I love and I'm done. So fun!

At first, I was going to leave it that rustic pink/brown/kraft look then I decided to throw in the punch of green. I liked how it worked out.

I'm back.....

A brand new, little girly card I made today, with a color scheme of yummy pinks and yellows:

Love you lots

Boy, I usually don't write too much and have been keeping my posts short and sweet as to not bore you, but today I feel like writing......I have always loved to write, you know.  It's always been one of my many passions.  So anyhow, for a while, my mojo went away, and for those of you who recall, I had my arm issues last year - and it seemed like after that episode, even after my arm was stronger again, I had sort of 'lost' a desire to craft.......GASP - imagine that! Coupled with busy times for me and my family, an ever changing lifestyle and some new challenges that I have kept private for a while......the desire to craft withered away into the dark distance and I was so busy doing anything but designing.

But.....I miss it.....miss it terribly and I feel I was at my very best, my strongest, mentally......when I did what I loved doing...designing cards and making my scrap pages.  So I've recently had a resurgence for the art once again.......hopefully, starting fresh and clean with the new school year starting, I have to say I think, with a fair amount of certainty.....that Tif is back.....hope you enjoy the card.

Have a fantastic week!

Beautiful Sisters

I'm pretty sure I've never shown this one on my blog was for a vintage project I was working on.  Can you tell flowers was the theme? Oh my heart, how I love flowers!!!

beautiful sisters

I used doilies to give the the layout a soft frame and 'tucked' in some of the flowers and additional elements to surround the main photo.

Simple journaling and letter stickers for the title finish out the design.

Have a great day everyone!

Sweet You

One of the biggest joys of crafting for me, is creating something that is really effortless, with a touch of understated elegance.  I really like having one focal point and the smallest amount of embellishments surrounding it:

Sweet you simple

Switch up the sentiment and this could easily be a card for several different occasions like a Birthday or a Thank You note.

That's it for today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

What would summer be without a fun-filled water layout? Haven't posted this one yet.  This layout was made when Chris was much younger, we giggle all the time about his younger hairstyle as we weren't quite sure as parents what we were doing with his  Many times, it was a mystery to

H20 LO

Back then,  he didn't know how to swim yet, so a good soak with a water hose and sprinkler made him sufficiently happy.  Once again, my go to size of 8 x 11, clean and simple lines but with lots of colorful elements. You can't go wrong with super bright mixed papers from Echo Park along with their cutouts and letter stickers.

Hope you all have a fabulous week!!

Take care.

handsome you

Hello all! Sitting down and looking through and organizing my photo stream....I haven't shared this one of the layouts I made quite a while ago....that was not ever picked up for publication, I'm pretty sure this was for the 'Quick and Simple' category:

handsome you

I used some of my favorite papers from Bo Bunny with coordinating chipboards, for a quick and clean flow of colors and patterns. Other products include AC, DD, and WP.

I was so into the 8 x 11 size for scrap pages for a was just so much fun to work with this size instead of the 12 x 12.  I rarely do the bigger size now.  Anyone else prefer the former size.  How about 8 x 8's - or 10 x 10's?

Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful summer!!

Looking forward to summer and enjoying it with my family, hope you all have a fabulous summer!  I will try to not neglect my blog toooooo much! :)) Can you tell I've slowed down my crafting considerably?

Have a great one!
