It's not always a happy, smiley face

When we scrap book, I know most of us tend to choose the most desirable photos, the ones with the cutest smile, the best clothing...etc., but sometimes it's fun to pick out the photos that depict a certain emotion....emotions that later lead to a wonderful milestone:

First day of summer school LO 08

These photos, for instance, were from his first ever Summer school days back in 2008.  He was so afraid of the school bus, and after 4 days of riding it, he finally enjoyed it on day #5.  The photo on the bottom, far right - he is almost crying when he sat at the school sidewalk waiting for class to begin.  Just merely 3 years old.  So in this case, a less desirable photo that shows a memory I will always have of him conquering a fear he had!  Fun to showcase these moments and look back on them.

11.30

For those of us who have yet to use washi tape or maybe we want to immerse ourselves in it but are slowly getting there...like me....one fun thing I did was simply take some light colored patterned paper strips, tear the edges or keep them straight and added them onto this layout:

a fall baby

So is this faux washi tape? lol.....I thought it gave it a fun, sweet look to surround the baby photo....that's it for today, hope it is sunny and beautiful where you are!!

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics.

You are loved

A card share for today.  I made this back in February but never posted it, isn't it amazing how many projects we have that just sit in our photo files until we dig them up?  For this pretty floral background, I used some yummy ink called Butter Bar from Hero Arts:

you are loved background

It's a really creamy yellow.  I wanted the background to be the focal point so my embellishments are minimal.  That's it!

Hope everyone is off to a wonderful Summer. We have a 1.5 week break and then off to Summer school for Chris.

Supplies:
Background stamp: Hero Arts.
Yellow ink: Hero Arts.
Sentiment: Papertrey Ink??

A Journey of a lifetime

Often times when we scrap book, we pull a color out of the photo and dedicate the entire layout around that particular color, I love doing that when I work with layouts, so for this piece, it was the little blue bench that inspired me:

a journey of a lifetime

I wanted to give this LO a really feminine, shabby feel. It focuses on the travels of a young lady in my family, her experience in a beautiful and different country. The photo in real life is so charming, I just love her sitting on the bench with the amazing Eiffel Tower in the background!

I have a super busy week ahead for me...I hope you all have a good one!  Night!

I haven't really had a chance to dive right into Basic Grey's Konnichiwa collection.  I've seen some really cute projects done with this set and the patterned papers.  This here is a little card that I was able to create a while back with their fun chipboard shapes:

top ten

Popping in real quick to share another fun scrap book page.  Do you ever take time to make a page about yourself?  I think it's fun and challenging at the same time:

top ten things that i love

For those of you who have been with me from the start, yes, this is an older pic of me....I'm so lazy to take new ones of me....funny how we are more kin to taking new photos of our children but not so much of us. ;))  This was for a scrap book submission but didn't make the cut, I still had tons of fun journaling what I loved the most:

top ten things that i love with hidden tag

Oop, looks like #7. is missing partially, it said, "Secretly love Hello Kitty!" :)   Guess you will never know 8 through 10...hehe.

Have a good one!

Monochromatic florals

Just sharing some thank you cards I've finished up for the end of the school year.  Instead of coloring in this flower, I decided to choose my patterned papers first, and then stamp the flower in a matching ink color.

IMG_1534

I like how they turned out.  I made a total of five of them.

Each card will also match the color of a gift that goes with it....I'm silly, I love to match everything down to the T if I can sometimes. Just something fun I like to do. Hope all of you with little school ones have finished up your projects too!

Have a great Wednesday!

Purple lined patterned Paper: Basic Grey.

You are so very special to me

Just popping in with some fun colors tonight....this background stamp is called Floral Dot Background from Hero Arts/Basic Grey:

you are so very special to me

I always love coloring....I'm not good at it, but I still love to color...lol....I thought a 'round' sentiment would look better on this card than a horizontal sentiment so I searched around my stash and happened to find some yummy Basic Grey chipboards to use.  Time to turn in for the night, it was a busy day and I'm pretty much zonked out!  Night!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics.
Stamp: Hero Arts/Basic Grey.
Markers: Copics.
