July Publications

Hi all! Thought I'd share some cards that I got published in the July issue of CARDS Magazine and Scrapbook Trends' Create Books:

July Pub1

July Pub2

July Pub3

JulyPub4

It's so much fun to see very familiar names of my fellow cardmakers and scrapbookers in these issues too!!

I'm still super busy with the little one and Summer activities - poor thing, he is SO ready to go back to school! Keeps asking me when school starts and I tell him not until September 8 and then he gets out the calendar and looks at it..lol.

Starry Silhouette

I've been enjoying seeing some wonderful, Christmas/Holiday cards all over blogland lately! So thought I'd share a Winter themed card too:

Winter tree silhouette

Used this stamp called Starry Night. And the Magical Background stamp is used on the darker blue panel. Lots of yummy Tim Holtz distress inks combined here.

Does it make you feel chilly or no? I sure could use a little chill over here in our parts...we are having a nice little heat wave this week!

So Sweet of You

Sharing a card I made back in July, using some of my fav's like Pebbles, the cute papers you see and that tissue flower. Button is from Doodlebug Designs, have you seen their new buttons and how they are packaged? In a little circular flask, very cute!

So sweet of you pastels

My favorite 'go to' colors of green and pink are also on this card. Used an older PTI sentiment stamped over pp that I got from Michael's. Those pearls are from Melissa Frances...love them for having multiple sized pearls in just one package!

That's it for tonight. See you!

You're so special

A card I made a while ago, I combined some Hero Arts stamps with a Penny Black stamp:

Youre so special JAN

The flowers were colored with markers directly onto the wood block stamp. Really fun, takes a little time to color but really a pretty result. That ribbon, BTW, was a last minute improvisation. I knew I wanted to put a ribbon on this card, but what color?? There are so many colors on this card that I didn't want the ribbon to clash. So for the most subtle look, I found this 'grapefruit' pink ribbon from May Arts.

Will hook up with you all on your blogs soon! So sorry I haven't visited...Life + Summer = A bit of crazy around here.

See you soon!

Goodmorning, Monday!  Here are the random winners from my give-a-way:

Wow, that's a beautiful card! I don't own anything Echo Park, but when I look at it to purchase, I'm always looking at the bright ones. I didn't think Victoria Gardens would be that usable, but your card is proving otherwise! It's beautiful! The bright ones would clearly not work on that card! Thanks for the chance at some fun candy!
Love it all! Thanks for the great giveaway!
Tiffany, that's very kind of you to give your fellow papercrafters a chance to win some wonderful items. I'm just loving the EP Victoria Gardens paper right now! Thanks again!
WOW!! Of course I am interested! Thank you so much for giving back ;) I don't own a PB stamp or EP papers yet so this would be so awesome!

Easy ways to document age

Hey all, I just finished up a quick 14-page mini album, it was so much fun!  In addition to finding simple, little photos and embellies to add to the book, I also wanted to find a way to remember how old my son was on each photo:

Sweet Memories Mini Album 1-6

I often find myself looking through all of his photos and wondering, "How old was he in this???"  And as the years go by, I know my memory will not be up to par on that, so I'm just going to show a few pages here where I simply used numerical thickers or stickers to represent his age at different stages of his life:

Sweet Memories Mini Album 1-6a

One flip of each page, and I will know exactly how old he was at that time:

Sweet Memories Mini Album 1-6b

This book covers ages 6 months through age 6.  I can't wait to start the next one which will be from ages 7 - 12.  I like keeping these small so they are handy to carry with you at all times.  The bigger 12 x 12's can stay safely at home. :)

And, here is the back of the book:

Just sharing some Vintagey/Shabby cards I made a while back, both have doilies on them, do you think doilies will ever go out of style, I hope not...I love to throw a doily on everything nowadays. :)

Thank You Pink Rose Vintage

And if you are a fan of lemon yellow:

And there is still time to enter my giveaway on my Wednesday post.  I'll pick winners next week.  Have a fabby weekend!

Tweet....tweet! I'm back.....

Hey all!  I'm back with lots of projects to share - I've been on-line pretty much all day re-vamping my blog.  Let's get right to a fun project I have.....I've been wanting for a while now, to do a non-card project.....it's enjoyable sitting down and working on a project that takes a little longer:

This little ol house front

This birdhouse is actually pretty big, 6" tall, 5" wide, and about 6" in depth....plan to hang it somewhere in the house once I figure out where and how. ;) For each side of the birdhouse that I wanted to cover with pp, I measured and trimmed my paper, it was hard getting the perfect corners, but I hung in there.

I decorated with fun embellies and made scallops for my rooftop and shingles:

This little ol house side view

And a close-up of the sentiment:

Hope you enjoy, I'm having a GIVE-A-WAY soon...wheee!  Watch out for it!
