A trip down memory lane....

I was cleaning up my old photo files and noticed some of my older work from years ago....when I used to sit and make projects that was anything but a card. Basically, it was a fun, personal challenge to myself, to see what I could do with a little piece of paper and other knick knacks. So without further ado, some silly stuff from my past:

These were just a few, so fun! As the years went by, I kind of just geared more towards cards and layouts, but I still yearn to think up some more of these ideas when I can. Hope you enjoyed!

......those were my son's measurements at birth, and isn't it amazing how, as mothers, we actually remember those 3 numbers at the top of our heads, like no other! When I was making this baby card, I thought about those numbers as I was digging for patterned papers that had a reference to 'inches':


This paper from Webster's Lullaby Collection was perfect for what I needed. The baby carriage stamp is from Lawn Fawn's Plus One collection!

Added some lace doily, thickers, a molded flower, and a delicate gingham ribbon to finish off the look.

Hey all! This is a fun card for today, it was inspired by visiting Kathy's blog yesterday. She had made an Earth Day card for her sister and it was so cute, I was immediately thinking of some fun embellies that I had to make an Earth Day card too:

Spring Break is finally here for us....

....and since the weather is going to be very nice, I hope to be eating a lot of this all week:


These fun stamps are from this set called Sweet Kawaii! Love the shape of the icecream swirl, and.....growing up, I always remember eating TONS of the double stick popsicles, there was a strategy to eating those things without it breaking into pieces....lol!! As kids, my brother and I would also make our own popsicle sticks with yummy Root Beer and Orange Soda....we even tried Mello Yello....if you know what Mello Yello is, then you know what era I grew up in! LOL! Don't think they even make it anymore!

Love Pleated Blossom

Another handmade flower for today:


It's pretty easy to do, wish I had a tripod on my camera and I could do a video/tutorial, real hard without one, and making individual photo steps takes so long...but anyways...just simply punch out 9 circles with a circle punch. Make 1 circle a medium circle and the other 8 circles smaller ones.


Use hot glue or glossy accents and gently glue a tip of each small circle together. Press and hold. Make 8 of them. See how they look like petals. You can gently shape them further with your fingers. The 1 circle that is medium sized is used to adhere the others onto it. Leave the petals just slightly off and over the edge of the medium circle, place individually until you get the look you want.

For the tiny little flower in the center, I just used a store bought one to complete the look.

It's all the rage with handmade flowers...

Hey all, real quick....I have been playing with lots of handmade, paper flowers.....I used to go out and buy my own quilling papers (you know, the ones that are conveniently cut up for you)...well today, I thought I'd make my very own...used my patterned papers, trimmed them, and glued together......painstakingly long but I had fun!

Hello Flourish

I can honestly say, this has got to be one of my very favorite BIG stamps of all time, it's the Fabulous Flourish stamp from Hero Arts:


It was not picked up for pubs, so I can share with you now. I've seen folks use it in a non-embossed look as well, and it looks 'fab' indeed. So versatile. I need to play with it more and see what other looks I can come up with. Enjoy, and hope your weekend got off to a good start!

Inspired from a LO to a card....

Today, I was sitting in my car waiting to get the little one out of school, and I was reading the April Issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. On the front cover is a beautiful layout from one of my favorite scrapbookers, Sheri Reguly!


I loved a portion of her scrap page and wanted to go home and make a card from only that part of it.


I used similar colors and just improvised on whatever pp I had available. I always love her clever use of very fun and bright colors, meshed with stamping AND innovative use of patterned paper....she's so good at that!

So for today's post, I made this sweet Easter/Spring time card using THIS set:


This card was so much fun to make! I think the most intricate part was the center oval - I did a lot of trimming, coloring, and layering of tiny pieces....that took the longest. The rest of the card was just a matter of adhering everything together.
