Oh, Little Red.....it's off to Grandmother's house we go!

Hi all! I will continue with my flower themed cards again after today, but since today is Halloween, I wanted to share a card and my Halloween costume - I was sooo inspired by this cute little image below, isn't she darling:

Little Red

Little Red2

...that I just had to be her for real:

Costume inspired by My Cute Stamps card

This is the first time ever I am dressing up to go trick-or-treating with my little boy. The most inexpensive outfit! The skirt, shirt(which poses as the cape), the blouse, the hood, the basket, and the paper bib were all items I had in my closet. The only expense was the apple from the grocery store! ;)

Enjoy and Happy Halloween!! Hope you don't get poisoned by a red, delicious apple.....whoooaaaaaaaaaah!

So Sweet of You

Hi all! What a day, I am finally settling down now from a day filled with errands, a school party, and a teachers meeting. Chris had fun receiving candy and toys from a classmate, and some cool looking stickers. They had their annual "Halloween Parade". There is a carnival tonight but I think I will go next year instead. I saw the MOST awesome costume by one of the teachers...lol!

Enough rambling, here is a card I started early this morning and finally finished:

So sweet of you

There's just something about flowers that really relaxes me when I stamp.....I don't think any other image truly captures so much beauty than a flower stamp, don't you think? You'll probably be seeing a lot of floral cards from me in the next few wks. These are some yummy PTI stamps that are a bit older but I LOVE them!

Paging Dr. Ervin...

Hi all! There are two 'sides' to this layout here.....a fun side and also a sentimental side that has a lot of meaning for me, I'll explain:

Paging Dr. E.

This is Chris' Halloween costume for this year. He LOVES the doctors outfit....in fact he was giggling, and jumping up and down the minute he put it on, I had to settle him down for some photos....he adores it and that makes me giddy too!! I had him pose with both of his arms on his hips...lol....you know like the doctors on the show 'ER'.

Paging Dr. E.3

The stamped journaling says, 'dr. e. head neuro-surgeon.' For some reason, I just wanted it all playful and in small caps.

Now the sentimental part of this layout has to do with the die-cut sentiment on the upper left hand corner....and also the fact that this is a doctors costume....the sentiment says:

"Promise me you'll always remember. You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. -A.A. Milne."

I love that and I am humble....and it makes me wonder how much Chris has accomplished thus far, and the potential he has as an adult....he is truly such a gifted child intellectually and I do feel he will do many great things as he gets older. He may become a doctor, a musician, an engineer....wherever his talents may take him....I don't know, but I do feel in my heart, he has immense potential....and for that, I admire that saying.

Paging Dr. E.2

There are no traditional Halloween colors on this layout, since I was matching the paper colors with his outfit.

Enjoy!

Hope is born...

Hey, hey, I'm back! I haven't played with challenges for quite some time, so thought I'd join in on the vintage color challenge at Embellish Magazine:

Hope is born

Had fun with this one! I think my rust color is a tad darker than the color challenge photo, but love that deeper hue. The stamp is another wonderful sentiment from Penny Black, it is called Hope is born! It is a large sentiment stamp that is perfect if you want to make your sentiment the focal point on a card, love the words and the charming font!

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend! Will be back with some more cards featuring PTI and My Cute Stamps!

Sentiments to live by...

Sometimes I love to make the sentiment the focus of the card if I can. I tried to limit the amount of embellishments on both of these designs, in hopes that the sentiment still reaches out on these cards:

There is only one happiness in life is to love and be loved

Translated....this states, "There is only one happiness in life is to love and be loved."

Here is the 2nd card:

Change yourself

Enjoy! I'm still trying to get back on track with visiting blogs and such, but the cold and flu has hit our house a little early this year....but I'm getting there! I'm glad I was in a good enough mood to make these cards last night, yay!

Supplies:
Websters Pages, Websters Bloomers, The Girls Paperie, Bazzill Basics, Prima, SEI, Moonrise collection, white doily, Papertrey Ink cardbase, white cardstock, pink silk ribbon, pink roses from sweet Jo.

Just a little bit of pink...

Just a few cards I made but haven't blogged yet, and they all have one thing in common, first up - CAS and a blossom of flowers a dear friend sent me, so I turned it into a sweet bouquet topped with a ribbon:

IMG_9367

This card was an initial idea I had for a class, I was going to do a "Pastel Christmas" theme in which all Christmas cards were to use non-traditional colors....but changed my mind at the last minute and completely changed all of my cards. This eventually went into the "I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-it" file...lol:

IMG_9376

And finally, this card was made for a fellow Hero Arts Hostess as a surprise virtual 'Wedding Card Shower' that was organized by an HA artist and involved many Hero Arts Flickr members:

Congratulations

Wow! That was a lot of pink, hope it didn't hurt your eyes! Enjoy!

Birgitta and an accordion fold

This is very similar to an easel card, but a little different. I was just playing around with a white piece of paper and started making an accordion type of fold, flop, flop....one, two, three, four, and this was my card:

Birgitta

The little girl on the tree stump reminded me of the outdoors, with all the cute little flowers and mushrooms, so I paired her with some fresh and pretty Webster's Pages and some other knick knacks worth of papers and embellies. Here's what it looks like at an angle:

Birgitta folded angle

Swiss Pixies...

Hi all! Happy Friday....I've only been able to make 2 cards this week, wow! It's just been busy around here. My card for today is a fun one, I saw a design online that was too stinking adorable and it had 3 of these images layered upon each other, so I wanted to give it a try myself using my own colors:

Swiss Pixies

There are 4 different stamps on here from C.C. Designs - Swiss Pixies Collection. I stamped the fence on the main white panel and colored in. For the grass, I blended several colors of yellow together. The girl and boy are stamped separately and colored in.

Then, I trimmed them out and adhered in front of the fence. Fun little scenery. I LOVE these images, they are too adorable! Enjoy!

It's a Monster Birthday Bash!

I am so happy to announce that I am a Guest Designer today for the very sweet and talented Jane Beljo! She is releasing her newest stamp design for Claudia & Company, and are you ready to see this?? He is super cute........introducing Mr. Smiles:

Mr. Smiles Party Invitation

This set was a real delight to work with, the monster image was stamped, colored, and trimmed and adhered to the party invitation.

I used the fun, polka dotted arrow stamp to make a border around the invitation text. The sentiment was stamped directly onto Mr. Smiles!

Mr. Smiles Party Invite Border Detail

And what fun would a party invite be without a few tasty treats to share too? Here is a table centerpiece that you can make using the Mr. Smiles set or they can be individual take home favors for the children:
