It's been a LONG time....

...since I've been on a bike! Pretty much about 23 years now since I've owned one....had one up til I was about 16, then when we moved to California, really never invested in a new bike...it was either walking or driving at that point. Such memories....so many fun ones too....my sweet girlie pink and blue bike that I had....it looked kinda like this one:

bike ride

It had a basket in the front too...a white woven basket filled with mostly books and candy from the local sweet shoppe! I was a total bookworm and already a candy crazed kid at the time! ;)

That bike took me to the library on so many occasions and yep, that old fashioned drug store that was lined with rows of candy in the front counter....that little lady behind the counter....how she gazed at us kids like a hawk...oh yes, we would quickly buy our handful of candy and squeal in delight upon leaving...the good 'ol days!

This card uses a lot of older Hero Arts stamps combined with the newer bike stamp! I used the new Hero Hues Grass chalk ink to make the grass color....I wanted a very faint color background to set against the white cardstock, so I gently dabbed on some distressed inks....created my little scenery, and colored it in...

Do you have a bike? Hope you get to ride it soon and hope it jogs some fun, summertime, childhood memories!

Enjoy!

Supplies:
Hero Arts: Stamps, Hero Hues ink, layering paper, gems.
Tim Holtz distress inks.
Stazon Jet Black ink.

What a nice story! And I love your card! Can you believe my almost 90-year old Dad still rides a bike 2X a day here in Florida? With his little dachshund Heidi in the basket - a sure way to meet lots of people!

Love this Tiff! Espcially the little scene you've created with the grass. I do have a bike but don't ask me when was the last time I rode it. My kids recently asked DH if Mommy knows how to ride a two wheeler!!

This is adorable!!! Love how you created the cute scene with the stamps!

nope, no bike but I did try out my DH's bike a few years ago. Felt really shaky after not riding in probably 20 yrs. of course it didn't help that he's like 10 inches taller than me and his bike was too big for me, LOL!

Love hearing you talk about the good old days!! What fun and you should be getting a bike...just riding in the neighborhood, yes? I own a bike and we go for bike ride every summer. It's a time when all 4 of us get to move in a row together. I find days like that are getting less and less...yes, the good old time! AWESOME one layer card, Tiff!

Hi Tiffany! Love your story today. Your card is so nice. I have a bike that belonged to my grandmother a long time ago. I have this bike for almost 30 years now and my grandmother owned it already for years. So that bike must be more that 40 years by now...can you imagine...and I still use it every day!!!
