6:40 p.m..... when you came into this world....5 years ago today......11/30/ I am wishing you a BIG, Happy, Happy Birthday Chris, I love you so much:

Oh goodness, you are probably tired of me talking about C's birthday so today is his official b-day and these are the last set of pics I'm sharing, I promise! ;) Last week's celebration was for family and's pics and video are from his little party at school with his much fun!

Here's a short video:

Below, I set the table first when I got there before the kiddos saw me......after the table was done, Chris got to sit out on it first before the other kids started coming out:

Chris B-day table setting

He is waiting for the other kids to come out here - the candle was donated by his teacher....sweet!

Chris5 cupcake candle from teacher

Enjoying thoroughly! These cupcakes were a little different from the previous ones I had bought for the family......a little simpler but still delish!

And lastly.....if this wasn't the strangest, or perhaps, totally subconscious of my mind....when you get to the school, you're supposed to go to the front office and write your name and date on a visitors pass. On the pass, I wrote my name and then the date 11/30/04...without realizing I had written '04~! Wow, I thought that was hilarious when I came home and peeled it off of my shirt!!!

Hope his day is wonderful and yours is too! ;)

I will be back tomorrow with Lizzie Anne's new December Single and a fun holiday project I made as well!

Take care!

Punch it!

Hi all! Here is a card that utilizes different sizes of fun flower you like punches like I do?

flower punch

This card was created with very little stamping, and mostly lots of paper piecing and punching and scattered embellishments. Just something super fun and colorful!

I used a much older Hero Arts woodblock stamp set that I had and have not inked it up yet! I have a few of my favorite Martha Stewart, Fiskars, and Marvy punches, and they come so in handy when you need quick and easily made shapes!

There are still MANY punches that elude me out there, I would love to own all of the newer Fiskars border punches out there, but have yet to look into them!

flower punch2

Off to catch up in blogging land and will head out later to this really fun place HERE! And most of our visit to this place has nothing to do with the pizza either,'s more for the crazy rides that Chris loves so's a wacky and very loud place, perfect for kids and ultimately tests the sanity of adults...hehe!! Love it!

Enjoy your Saturday!

I finished up a project earlier today that you will be able to see on the 1st.....until then, happy stamping and will be back later this weekend with some crafting I can show you!

Tiffy's Penguin

I've been seeing so many cute little penguin cards lately, that I've been wanting to make my own little guy just for fun:

Handmade Penguin

I've been so extremely thankful to have some help around the house these past 2 days, that it's made it easier for me to craft....hooray! So I guess I'm truly thankful for that in my help from others...especially during the holiday season.

What are you thankful for? I'm hoping you get some help from loved ones too!

Here is a close-up:

Handmade Penguin2

The only stamp on this card is the sentiment from this clear set called Holiday Cheer! The remainder of the design is made entirely from assorted Bazzill papers and either hand cut or torn.

The ribbon I wanted flying in the air so I wrapped it around his little neck and glued in-between the folds. At the end of the ribbon, I added another piece of paper and clipped the edges for the frayed look.

Thanks for looking, come back tomorrow for some fun 'shopping' news! ;)

Stamps: Hero Arts.

Papers: Bazzill basics and textured.

A woset in your closet? Dr. Seuss themed cupcakes arrived fresh and yummy today - ready for Chris' birthday party tomorrow:

Dr Seuss double chocolate

After strenuous hours of being on the phone with many bakeries, I finally found one bakery called Mrs. Beasley's
that was kind enough to custom make Dr. Seuss/Cat-in-the-Hat themed cupcakes for my son! I was thrilled beyond belief! They are located at South Coast Plaza for those of you in the Orange County, Calif. area. Mrs. Beasley's will make WHATEVER you desire if you're looking for a specific theme. They will really go out of their way to do so. This is his current favorite now, Dr. Seuss all the way, he reads a ton of Dr. S books and loves them!

Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat closeup

There are two different flavors - double chocolate and vanilla buttercream! So yum.

Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat

Sorry if the photos aren't too clear, I had to take them quickly and hide them before Chris got home from school - it will be a total surprise...he has no idea! Hehe!!

in sunshine and in shade.....

Feeling whimsical today and wanted to make a fun, VERY bright card....after all, just heard from DH that he is helping me with some of the holiday/birthday planning for that I'm not tearing my hair out doing it all...yay!!! Gotta love help!

So I have a little time to craft here:

In sunshine and in shade

The 'Friends Forever' is a sentiment from Hero Arts - and the 'in sunshine and in shade' is this cute sentiment from Taylored Expressions! The set that includes this verse is called Branching Out - very cute set that I won from an older Caardvark's challenge - I plan on inking some more images from it.

In sunshine and in shade2

Just something cute and sweet for my day!

Hope your day is fabulous and your Thanksgiving plans are all coming together for the big day! It's going to be a warm and sunny 77 degrees for Turkey day here in Southern Cal.....yay! That calls for another sunny looking card! A nice change with all the Christmas cards lately. ;)

Shine in the New Year!

A few more holiday cards to show you, just finishing up cards on my 'to-do' list for the week...this one below features a New Year's stamp from the Monthly Mix:

Shine in the New Year

Wanted to give this card some glimmer and shine - loved pairing deep chocolate, gold, light beige, black, and silver. I added the big chocolate bow tie - I have some big ribbons I have yet to use.

Shine in the New Year2

This next card features a stamp called 'Holiday Season':

Chocolate Chip Pistachio

I love pistachio green and chocolate chip colors together.

I took a butterfly die-cut and folded in half, and added the pearl accents:

From the Heart.....

Goodmorning Sunday! I had a little bit of time last night to play in Lucy's Color Challenge. You can check out all of her fabulous work on her blog!

The challenge is to use pale pink, aqua, and kraft. Here is my card:

From the Heart Rose

I combined some Hero Arts stamps and a Papertrey Ink flourish stamp that I just lovey love!! I could use this flourish stamp all the time.

The Heart stamp and sentiment is from Hero Arts.

From the Heart Rose3

Another fun closeup, these little stick pins are from Making Memories, yum! Can't get enough of their pins:

From the Heart Rose4

Thanks for peeking! Can't wait...I'm headed off today to have some girl's been quite a week and still lots to do before Thanksgiving, so thought I'd take a quick break today and enjoy some time to myself! Catch up with you all later!

Skittles Candy

I think for young and old alike, we all love to munch on candy from time to time, right? Take my son, for example, I know for a fact, he probably would like a card much more if it had something yummy attached to it like this:

Skittles For You

This small snowman stamp from the December Monthly Mix was the perfect size to incorporate into a tag....and so I decided to add the tiny little candy bag on front of the card as much fun!

All the papers you see on the card are digital papers from the Deck the Halls Collection.

The candies were inserted into a cellophane bag...I cut a long vertical strip from the Deck the Halls digi paper and wrapped around the bag. A hole was punched thru the middle of the paper to showcase the candy. The entire front of the bag is held together by threading the twine through the button.

Hope you enjoy!

What I love about you....

I needed to make a romantic, wedding anniversary card and whenever I need that romantic look, I always reach for my K & Company/Brenda Walton collection:

It has this vintage/shabby chic style that is elegant and I love the daintiness of the designs and colors!

The strip of flourishes in the background was made with a rub-on set, I just love rub-ons sometimes! They are sooo great for making your own patterned designs.

I also added some of my favorite lace trims, some coordinating papers from Lizzie Anne Designs - actually these papers from LAD are holiday papers but the color worked well for what I needed.

I also love these papers by Karen Neuburger.

Lastly, I added some fun metallic shiny red hearts to accent the card.

Thanks for looking!

....that is just simply for you to enjoy? ;)

I love the above sentiment....that butterfly is actually a rub-on......but I rubbed it on white cardstock first and then trimmed and adhered.

Thanks so much for peeking in today.

Butterfly collage

Hey there, back again today with a fun card I made for the Hero Arts Trimming challenge:

Butterfly thoughts

I incorporated a little bit of everything into this card, some embossing, stamped directly on patterned paper, coloring, and used some fabulous trims and lace sent to me by friends.

I love this new butterfly from Hero Arts:

I hope you have been inspired by the Monthly Mix designs from Lizzie Anne is my latest one, I will have a few more to show you this week...

I paired dust pink and baby blue as my color combos for this card! I also used Way Up North Digital Papers! Love these digi papers, very versatile and fun to use!

Here's a close-up of the sentiment surrounding the globe:

It's been busy, without a doubt....let's see, aside from crafting.....I'm also figuring out some ideas for my son's birthday coming up - we'll be celebrating his b-day with family on Thanksgiving Day, then he'll have a class party with his school mates on the following Monday! Yay!

Chocolate Buttercream & Ganache

Whenever I make cards for young children, I try to keep in mind what they would like instead of what the adult would prefer....very young children are not into intricate designs, they want something that is simple with definition and pops with color....children are visual...

Chocolate Buttercream Ganache

I just absolutely LOVE this cake stamp from the Lizzie Anne Monthly Mix! It's a pretty big-sized stamp too so I just love that....I always look for the bigger images when creating birthday cards.

I love chocolate mixed with buttercream/yellow, so I colored the cake in with these two colors. Sprinkled on some Ranger Diamond Stickles at the top of the frosting layer.

Also masked the candle #5 to make it appear it is sitting directly on the cake.

Chocolate Buttercream Ganache2

Basic primary colors are used to brighten the look (basically colors that kids use in school).

I'm not a coffee drinker...BUT....

I absolutely LOVE to smell the aroma of isn't that strange?! I've never touched coffee in my life and probably never will but, yes, when I'm around friends and family who drink it....the smell really gets to all time favorite is this orange mocha flavor - can't remember where it is from, but I love anything with an orange taste/smell....

Mango Melon Mocha Latte

So anyhow, I thought it would be fun to pair my favorite 'orange' aroma with what else - this delicious embossing powder called "Mango Melon". That's the powder I used for the coffee the way the sentiment around the coffee square reads: A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent.

The background is clear embossed with a stamp from the Deck the Halls set.

Enjoy the card!

Before I leave you though, my blogging buddy Kiara sent me a MeMe Blogging Award. Thanks Kiara, so sweet of you!

I'm to tell you about 7 secrets of mine but I think I will just stick to telling you 7 things about me that you may or may not know.....

  1. I hold a teaching credential just in case I ever wanted to go into that career.
  2. After eating something very very sweet, like a piece of chocolate cake, I love to eat some pickles afterwards to balance out the taste...I know, pretty strange - huh? ;)
  3. Mystery and suspense are my favorite types of novels....Agatha Christie is my all time classic favorite!
  4. I like to write poetry.
  5. Tons of people ask me what the 'ps' means on the end of my email address: used to stand for my all time favorite clothing store before the company got bought out and is no longer around....Petite Sophisticate was its name and I LOVED their clothing, never had to alter anything I purchased there!
  6. I DON'T sew!!
  7. I drink too much soda!

Gosh, I know way too many talented blogging friends out there who will receive this award too, pls. play along if you want to! I'm sure I will be reading many fun and interesting truths and secrets! ;))

Plum Frost....

Two cards to show you today....hope you enjoy! These images are from the new December Monthly Mix at Lizzie Anne Designs:

Plum Frost

For my lavender and aqua themed card above, I embossed the snowflakes in white embossing powder and did a lot of cut and paste of various patterns and colors.....I don't use these two color combos too frequently but I think I could really start liking this one!

This next card I wanted to make really bright and colorful, wouldn't this make a great card for your girlfriend as a quick pick-me-up or just to simply say 'hello'!

Flocked cards....AND....the December Monthly Mix!

I have some very simple flocked cards to show you and an announcement for the New Lizzie Anne December Mix.

Flocked Deer

I must admit, flocking is becoming an obsession, I just love this deer image above, it's actually two different images, I also added the flower to make it appear as if the deer was gently grasping the flower.

This is a larger flower below that was assembled with three different images:

Flocked Flower

The texture of the flocked look is really what's so nice to touch, I have some other colors that I want to try out too!

Please go HERE to check out LAD's December Mix entitled, 'Celebrate'! Some really cute holiday, New Year's, and Birthday images, too fun!

I have to run off again today and will be back on Monday to catch up with everyone!

Have a great day!

Deer Snowglobe

With the joyous craze of snowglobes popping up everywhere, I thought I'd jump into the pool as well and make a snowglobe too! They are so fun, a lot of work and some messiness, but really enjoyable to look at when you've completed the project.

I made this for the Glitter challenge that is going on over at Hero Arts! Pls. excuse the bad photo, whenever you work with any kind of clear material like plastic, glass, acetate....boy, is it hard to photograph!

Deer Snowglobe

To insert my Holiday trees and Deer, I used a crystal clear ornament with a slice in the middle. Stamped, colored, and trimmed my images, poured in 4 tubes of glitter and inserted the colored images, it was hard to stand them up and I had to result to some thicker paper in the end!

I tied a ribbon at the top of the ornament where the sliced opening is to hold it completely together. It's ready to be tied onto our tree this year....

Deer Snowglobe2

An extra heaping of glitter was hand sprinkled onto the top areas of the globe to make it appear as falling bits of snow.

Thanks for looking!

Wrapped in Gold...

Oh boy! Where have I been....real busy...lots of personal things to take care of in my's all for the good though and you know how it is with life and family, those are priority, we must take care of family before anything else.

I finally got in some crafting time and made this card for LAD's Sketch Challenge #103! Check it out, lots of fun!

Wrapped in Gold

Have you ever had a gift given to you that was all wrapped in bubbly gold? I don't think I've recalled ever receiving such a gift but I do LOVE red and gold together, it really sparkles!

The added twist to this sketch was to actually use RED and AQUA! I love those two colors together as well!

I also used the new digital papers called Way Up North! I just love the snowfall against the light blue background, too cute!

Hope you get some time in to play as well! Have a great day!

Totally Unexpected

Happy Sunday! Here to share with you my final card for the Hero Arts unexpected challenge this week:

Holiday flower

Instead of using some holiday trees or snowflakes, I threw in a hand made crocheted flower sent to me by Tracey, a fun butterfly die from MM, and some pastel colored/shabby chic papers given to me by Ivy! Combined with Friday's color combo, I thought this card would really be quite unexpected for the holidays....just something fun to make for me!

Just a very simple card for me to enjoy today:

Thinking of you scallop

Had great fun at a Stampendous warehouse sale today that a sweet girlfriend invited me to.....and this is one of the new stamps I used....I just liked the dainty little flowers and the sentiment. Huge, HUGE deals and oh my, there were customers there who were buying cartfuls of products.....

Thinking of you scallop2

DH did the math when I got home and he figured out that I had a savings of 90% on embossing 12 little canisters in a variety of colors for $ it and can't wait to play!

Off to play some more....hope your weekend is going well!

Sugar Coated....

I'm not too pleased with how this card turned out, but it is my finished product for the day.....

Sugar Coated

I had so many interruptions today that it took a while to finish this and then when I went to photograph it (I usually take about 10-15 photos before choosing which one I like), it fell on the floor and stickles got stuck all over the dolls face, I had only managed to photograph 4 pics total before it plopped on the

Live and learn! ;) See these pearls here? They've become an addiction....Prima has them in ALL name it, you won't want to buy any other pearls once you've seen their selection, yummy!

Ok, so what's going on for the weekend, I plan on spending a day with a friend at a super warehouse sale at Stampendous, located here locally in Anaheim, CA. Can't wait! It will be good eye candy as well as some time away for me!
