Pastel Silhouettes

Hi all.....I meant to post this yesterday but sort of ran out of time......made these cards using two of my favorite things......PTI cardstock and PTI ribbons....and a Hero Arts Cling Stamp:

I had a set of VersaMagic Inks that matched the cardstock really well, so I was pleasantly surprised and gave it a whirl.....they include Aloe Vera (which is the light green), Spring Pansy, and Sea Breeze. I had one more card made with a pixie dust (blush pink) color - but that card got ruined...boo!!

Enjoy and have a great day!

Silhouette ATC....

Hi all! Real quick and then I have to run off again.....it's been a busy day!

This is an ATC project I made for the new Hero Arts challenge this week. You may view all the details HERE! It is a very small piece of art - normally around 2.5" x 3.5" wide....can you believe it? Such a great challenge coming up with a design in such a tiny space....lots of fun though and you can make it as simple as you like or as complicated.....

I have some coordinating cards that I also made using this same stamp and color combo....I'll get those posted tomorrow...

See you!

Home Baked Goodness....

Goodmorning all! My card for today.......are you yearning for warm apple or pumpkin pie yet??? In fact, I believe I've already had some pie just the other day! Hope you like this little pie, it was stamped with lots of love! ;)

I used two different stamp sets for this card, A Harvest of Memories, and that round plate behind the pie is from an older set called Tutti Fruity.

Once again, when I find a stamp that I really like to use as background stamping, I seem to use it all the time! Here is a leaf stamp that I just love to use to make my own patterned paper:

Christmas Photocard

Hi there! Nancy over at Hero Arts is heading up this weeks challenge.....you can check out all the details of this challenge HERE! Photo cards are always fun to make and add your own element of surprise with your favorite stamps!

Here is my take on the challenge:

My husband proposed to me on Christmas Eve, and so I thought it would be fun to create a card that combined both the elements of a Wedding/Christmas theme together.

In this picture at a company Christmas function, we both wore white, so I wanted to coordinate my stamping and cardstock colors with white, black, and make the roses a deep red:

There is still time for you to join in on the contest, remember, you have until Sunday evening at midnight, Pacific Standard Time, to upload your project to the Hero Arts Flickr Pool!

Enjoy!

Something old...something new....

......a friendly little witch in purple and orange too!! Did I tell you I LOVE rhymes?! ;) Here is a card I made in which I used two new stamps from the October Monthly Mix called A Harvest of Memories:

I also added in some older stamps but still absolute favorites of mine when it comes to Halloween - the Witch and Witch Saying stamps! Aren't they adorable....great for using them for individual treat tags as well!

A few closeups:

I stamped the feathered grass stamp over the sentiment using a very light shadow ink for a very soft effect.

Enjoy and have a great day!

Sew Girly.....

Hi All! Two fun cards to show you....the first one I knew I wanted it to be super girly and PINK! Love this sewing machine stamp:

I used some fun and frilly lace trim to decorate the top of the card and used a leafy stem stamp to create a strip of patterned yellow paper:

My next card is more of a romantic.....elegant card using another one of my favorite color combos of melon yellow and lavender......I've used this rose stamp probably a dozen or more times now and since I've made so many, I won't be posting them all......so I thought I would just post this one:

Enjoy!

Have been hit with a small cold and nasal congestion! Feel better today and hope it stays away.....being quick on the computer for now and going to bed really early has helped! Stay healthy yourself! Tis' the season for getting ill again!!

Floral Cupcake Topper Centerpiece

Hi all, my 3rd and last post for the day....oh my! I've been having too much fun blogging.....here is just a really quick tutorial that I made for Lizzie Anne Designs back in July - and am able to share with you today....it's so easy and a lot of fun.....

I'm starting at the beginning, so the finished product is at the end of the post....uh ah - no peeking....hehe!

Step 1. Stamp multiple floral and leaf images from the Bloomin' Doodles set. For 10 stamped flowers, stamp 20 leaves. Color and trim each piece (number of florals and leaves dependent on the amount of cupcakes you are displaying). TIP: When coloring in your flowers, consider what color your cupcake frosting is going to be. Make sure the two colors contrast well so that your flowers will really pop with color (e.g. if frosting is white, color your flowers a bit darker, and vice versa).

Step 2. Using plain, white lollipop sticks, adhere each flower top using double sided adhesive tape.

Step 3. Decorate the cake stand with colorful flag strips....using assorted, bright colored paper. Trim a triangular shape approx. 1" on each side. Adhere with adhesive tape in a circular fashion until you've covered the entire width of the stand.

Step 4. Take flower and lollipop sticks that you assembled earlier and push through the center of each cupcake frosting, leaving 3/4 of the vertical stick to resemble the stem.
Step 5. Place two leaves on the frosting at the very bottom of the lollipop stick. Turn the leaves at a slight angle.

Step 6. Place cupcakes on cupcake stand and adjust to desired look! And Voila ~ you have a delicious looking summer time sweet treat that is perfect for a garden party, a tea time party, a princess birthday party, or a bridal shower!

Enjoy!

Autumn Notecard

I'm not sure what the weather is like in your neck of the woods, whatever the weather is, I hope it is beautiful for you!

Our temperatures over here is still HOT, HOT, HOT!! I believe it was the high 80's today....not as uncomfortable as 2-3 weeks ago....80's I can manage.....so in order to get me in the mood for stamping some fall themed cards, I've been cranking up the air conditioner and letting some coolness seep into my crafting area....lol....

Here is another Fall card I made today:

I played around with many patterns and colors and finally chose a rustic orange and mint green to work with - there's a hint of brown in here as well.

In addition to the patterned paper, the 3rd vertical strip to the right was made with one of the stamps from the October Monthly Mix set!

Enjoy and I'll see you tomorrow!

I'm back with some more fun stamping! I'll be showing samples from the October Monthly Mix for the next several days:

I've used 4 different stamps on this single card - approx. 5 1/2" x 4 1/2", pretty much a standard sized card. I love the contrast of cherry and lemon together....they are such yummy colors to me!

Here's a look at one of the images I stamped directly onto the vase die-cut:

Reindeer Party!

I'm back with my last post for the evening, had some time to sneak in another card today....it was hilarious making this card for I was literally running up and down the stairs chasing Chris....he was all over the place today.....I think it took me longer to make this than it should have. ;)

I used the cute little reindeer in THIS set and the tree in THIS set to make my winter time theme....I wanted the reindeer to be in clusters, so I masked and stamped them muliple times.

The reins were drawn in by hand and tons of glitter respresents the snow..

I had lots of fun with this card!

Will be back tomorrow to preview some new holiday stamps for the month of October...whohooo...excited!

Materials Used:

Stamps, heart gem, yellow gems: Hero Arts.

It's learning time.....

....over at Hero Arts this week!!! This weeks challenge will emphasize what you have learned and improved upon as a crafter/stamper.....what techniques and methods have you utilized to improve the overall look of your projects....one thing I am CONTINUOUSLY learning is coloring:

Would I have ever imagined in my life that coloring was a necessary skill in crafting?!! Probably not from the early stages of my crafting interest...imagine that, a skill you learn as a young child is something you need as an adult as well, isn't that fascinating?

I am still learning, I still don't have any copics to experiment with yet, so for now, I use markers and prisma pencils as my staple for all my coloring needs.

The above stamp is from the New Hero Arts' Cling line called Friend! Isn't it fabulous....love all the new clings.....come join in on the fun and show us what skills you have learned!

I just can't put this down....

...this stamp has been so fun that I can't stop....it's too addicting.....so I made another one except this time I used sky blue and banana instead of pink and red hues:

I also substituted the Antique Brocade stamp that I had used for my other card....for the Flourish Trio stamp. This card will makes its way to the mailbox on Saturday to a very sweet lady.......

Have fun and I'm out all day Saturday, can't wait! Spending some time with family and my cousin who is in town!

Take care!

I love these nested birds from Spellbinder's, will definitely be playing with these a lot more:

If you haven't been able to play in the Hero Arts' Fall Colors Challenge, there is still time to enter the contest and win some great prizes!! You have until Sunday at midnight, Pacific Standard Time to enter your card into the HA flickr pool!

Back in the days.....

....when I was a little younger, I was heavily into gift wrapping.....not so much crafting yet...that's actually the fuel that burned my desire to get into crafting...and from there, onto scrap booking and stamping!

So this morning, I spent a little bit of time gift wrapping a present that will be going out to a very dear friend!

She sent me the most humongous birthday gift a while back, it was really BIG! And I just wanted to thank her for her generosity! So my hat goes off to this kind lady who loves light pastel colors, flowers, and lots of hearts~

Here is the sentiment that I hand wrote...I need to write more!! And not type so much....

And to make more hearts, I used a Martha Stewart scalloped heart punch for the edge trim here:

Enjoy! I hope to get in some stamping today.

I also got some new nesties too and can't wait to open those up and take a look.....have you seen there is even a NEW Pumpkins Nestabilities over at Spellbinder's! Isn't it cute!! Just adore all the new items that are coming out!

The Colors of Fall

I'm having way too much fun being a Hero Hostess as of late....have you been joining in on all the challenges going on every week over at Hero Arts? This weeks challenge - Fall Color Schemes! And there are 4 different color palettes that you may choose to design your project from.....for my project....I fell in love with color palette #2....and here is my card:

This color palette incorporates rust, light kraft, teal, and milk chocolate....yummy! I pretty much had all the colors except for the teal, so I actually took a teal marker and colored in two of the Hero Arts cream flowers....so easy and gives it a great look as well!

Here's a close-up:

Hope you have time to play as well! Enjoy, I have to run off now.......last minute appts. before Chris starts school on Thursday! Yikes!
