Hello everyone! Can you believe it's already the very last day of August?? I can't wait to get September rolling...things are going to get busy around this household!! Here's a card I made today:

I used colors that I don't normally use together often, did a lot of distressing and added my sentiment.
I gave the leaves an almost frosty look, just experimenting!

Join me tomorrow as we kick off a preview of some brand new Halloween stamps!

Materials for cards:

Bright Ol' Owl

I'm just chugging along, making more cards to send out....while I have some time before things get really busy again for me!

For the friend that is receiving this card, she adores really bright colors including hot pink and orange! Hope she will like this one!

I used some wonderful textured papers from K & Company. They aren't anything fancy but they definitely have that extra touch of textured lines that can give a little more life to your cards.

Enjoy and we'll see you again soon!

Back again with another card I was able to finish...sending this one out to a faraway friend! Lots more to make....just having fun with my time here!

Here's a closeup of some yummy flowers and I LOVE this delicate white trim:

Hope you're having a good day, getting dark here and ready to start dinner - yum...cold croissant, turkey sandwiches since it's so hot here! We're having quite a heat wave, it's been in the high 90's this whole week, phew! Hoping for some relief soon!

And here is the 2nd card:

Little C is still ill, but he is recovering, it's been a strenuous week for us since late Wednesday.....DH and I have been taking turns watching him throughout the day.....cleaning up and making sure he's comfortable....he has lost some weight, but nothing too severe, he still doesn't hold down food too well, but seems to want food, so that's a good sign. Willl keep you posted. Gotta run, back later.

Can't live without my bear!

Two things I really enjoy with crafting are the words 'tiny' and 'cute'! This bear says it all....he's irresistible!!!

I could stamp this little guy all day long and color him in!! This is a small card approx. 3.5" x 3.5" - love these sizes and it's so super simple to make and enjoy!

A close-up of the teddy bear:

Well, let's see, aside from crafting........in other news, lots of busy stuff going on to end off our summer........big changes happening around our house!

We are taking the plunge! Little C refuses to sleep in his 'toddler' bed, so at this point I've made a firm decision to really change things around......computer room needs to get moved into our master bedroom......a new ADULT bed needs to be ordered.......the soon-to-be-called 'old computer room' will be cleared out. I have TONS of old toys and nick nacks that need to go to Salvation Army.

It will be a lot of work ahead and we want to finish all of it before Sept. 1st! Wish us luck! ;)

Hope you are all having a pleasant day!!

Let's Color!!

Back again today with a card for this weeks Color It Challenge over at Hero Arts.......Jennifer McGuire is hosting this weeks challenge with an abundance of beautiful cards... and tips on how to effectively color in your designs.

Check out the link above and you will see some amazing cards! And it's only Tuesday, I can't imagine what she has in store for the rest of the week!

Here's a close-up look, I did some slight distressing on the stamped image after coloring it in.....

And I added some dimension by stamping, coloring, and trimming an additional piece of the oval sentiment....then adhered it with some adhesive tape on top of the original sentiment. Added some bling to jazz it up a bit.
My dear blogging friend Kiara sent me this new Hero Arts Cling Stamp that you see above (CG112)! Isn't that sweet of her? Thank you so much for the gift Kiara! I was totally surprised to see such a wonderful surprise!

Thanks for peeking in!

Little Hula Girl

Hi there.....I made this card for a very ill little girl......you may read all the details about HER story!

I thought this colorful card might cheer her up and her family as well. I know as a little girl, I would have wanted this little hula doll....she's so cute!

I plan on making a few more cards for her and the parents too when time permits. It's such a good cause! Hoping you all can join in!!!

Have a great day!

Looking for a little whimsy today...

.....and I think this card would qualify for whimsical and fun natured. ;)

I think this card would be perfect for mass producing too.....if you just needed a whole bunch of cards to mail out....this is simple and easy to make.....and yet effective too....maybe you could change up the sentiment and the flower just a tad on each one...I still think it would be perfect to make 10 of these all at once! ;)

Here's the video I was trying to get up last night from my b-day out with my boys - but it was too big in size - so I finally broke down and just signed up for YouTube so I can just start saving all of my videos there to share....so much easier!

Enjoy!

Simple B-Day Fun....

Next week will be super busy for my DH, so we decided to celebrate my b-day a tad early today....great fun and I just love a simple day out with my family...it's the best! Good food, fun for my little sweetie pie Chris, and ending the day with something tasty and sweet.

We first took off for some seafood...one of my fav restaurants....DH and I shared this fancy little california crunch roll dish, it was sooo good...I always love how they fancy up the plate, so aesthetic looking:

Then I just had to have my Atlantic salmon dish...can't live without my fish:

We then headed out for some train riding and a ferris wheel ride. I had a video of all of us in the ferris wheel being silly and wanted to share too.....but the file is too big so I have to edit it and then I'll upload later.

He's such a happy guy here:

And on the train, the train conductor guy.....he's cool:

We did lots of sightseeing and ended the day at Sweet Spot Baker's Workshop for some vanilla sprinkles cupcakes for Chris and a strawberry shortcake cupcake for me...teeheeee.....

There was already a birthday party going on in there and YES, Chris wanted to crash the party!!!

Perfect Day..couldn't have asked for more. See you all soon for some more fun crafting.

Flitter....flutter.....

Goodmorning all! I made this card for the Mail It Challenge currently going on over at Hero Arts, and also for the fun Caardvark's challenge as well:

Loved working with hot pink, black, and white.....and I used my favorite Heart Winged Butterfly stamp too.....I played around with the design and the butterfly for awhile before I knew what I wanted to do with it.... and decided it would be neat to fold them in half, and add a little dimension by folding the wing gently with the tip of my finger.

I also added some black gems, a fuschia ribbon, some Prima trims, and a little sparkle to the butterflies.

Enjoy! I'm taking off for the rest of the day, hope your day is great!

October Moon

For this card, I used a combination of rustic orange, eggplant, and chocolate colors.....together, they resemble Halloween and Fall colors that can give off a very intriguing look...

I love the vibrancy of this purple ribbon:

A classic sentiment that I just love....so perfect for everyday use!

Enjoy the card!

Miss you owl

Hi all! A quick 4" x 4" card I made last night....the owl seems too faint on the picture.....it looks a lot better in person....I should have outlined it better with a darker marker, but anyways, here is the card:

I love the HA digi floral papers....the falling leaf is on one of my favs, I simply just cut out two of the leaf shapes and adhered them to my makeshift stem - which was cut out from an HA green notecard.

Thanks for peeking in today!

Autumn Acorn

Good afternoon!! Two more cards to share with you today. This is just the cutest little acorn image I've ever seen:

I paired this stamp with a soothing color of patterned paper and stamped some leaves onto the white background with a very light shadow ink.

I really liked how the color of the acorn turned out, wasn't sure at first which 'brownish' color to use but I ended up with this smokey color:

Next up, I have a fun mixture of reds, blues, and greens:

I guess you could say this is an attempt at a Christmas card, I believe that was the look I was going for. What do you think? I was just experimenting with this one!

Don't forget, that all of these stamps I've been using for the past few days are from the Sept. Monthly Mix Set from Lizzie Anne Designs.....check it out and become a member now in order to begin receiving these sets at a discounted price!

I'm keeping my post short today....I'm extremely tired and think I need to go to sleep right after I publish this.....my boy has had trouble sleeping for a while now and has been waking up at extremely odd hours of the night, hence, DH and I have to awake as well.....we are both heavily sleep deprived at the moment....but things still must get done during our day.

I wanted to give a shout out to some of my blogging buddies for giving me helpful advice under the circumstances!! Thanks to Kathy, Virginia, Lin, Sarah, and Cathy for your kind words and suggestions! I so appreciate it.......

Apple-icious

I'm back again today with some more inky goodness.....today has been rather tame compared to yesterday, I think I've been much more productive today, yay!

These apples are, once again, my play time with the Monthly Mix set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I just can't stop, having too much fun with this set!

Here's a close-up of them apples:

And check out what some of the other Lizzie Anne DT members have been cooking up with this set....some really beautiful work: Wendy, Jeanne Streiff , Rose Ann Reynolds, and Kendra Wietstock, and AJ Otto!

Pumpkin Trio

I am really starting to get into the groove of making Halloween cards, I can't believe it is only 2 1/2 months away....now as for Christmas cards......hmmmm...not quite yet.....I'm not ready for that yet.....and my summer is still here!

Here is another Halloween themed card I got to play with last night using the new Sept. Monthly Mix called Something to Crow About:

I loved pairing black and yellow together for this particular card! I masked my pumpkins and the flourish stamp to make the pumpkins look like they were sitting on a group of vines.

I also gave my pumpkins some glittery fun:

September Monthly Mix

Hello everyone! It's time to introduce the next set of stamps called the Monthly Mix for Lizzie Anne Designs! September's Monthly Mix is called Something to Crow About - you'll want to check it out...jam packed with the cutest images.

Remember, these exclusive monthly sets are the equivalent of 2 Little Bits sets, so you get double the amount of seasonal stamps to play with! To learn more about the Monthly Mix sets, please go HERE!

Let's get started with my samples - some fun cards I made:

This is a witches hat that will be used as a placecard for a Halloween party. I hand cut the hat design and used the flourish, the top half of the flower, and the leaf image to decorate the middle of the hat. I finished off the look with LAD's Pupcat Alphabet set. Wouldn't this be fun at your next childs Halloween party? You could also substitute different stamps for a more masculine look for a boys name.

Next, I made a fall themed card with the tree stamp and inked it in different colors. I sponged the edges of the nestie with a delicate green ink for a softer look:

My last card features this adorable rooster stamp that I just love!! I have never had a rooster stamp before so this one was definitely a charm to work with...love the image so much, once again, lots of sponging around the entire nestie die:

Enjoy and don't forget to check out all the details on the above links and how you can get your hands on these Monthly Mix kits! Join the club!

Have a great day!

His love for trains and buses....

Wow....it's been a while since I've posted some personal photos that weren't actually embedded in a layout or a card...;)

Here's a few fun photos of Chris enjoying a manual peddle train.....he loves this particular amusement park that we go to year round!!!

It's a smaller amusement park - much smaller than Disneyland, BUT he loves the rides, and has gone on just about all of them.....because they are really catered to smaller kids and they really fit his whimsical needs!! This big yellow bus is one he totally LOVES!! This child is NOT afraid of anything it seems! It's also at the same theme park and I pulled this photo from last year but this year, I finally went on the ride with him:

Last year - DH went with him.....this bus swivels and rotates clockwise and counterclockwise like a ferris wheel and it goes really high up into the sky....and pretty fast too.....the kids get a big kick out of it! Definitely churns your stomach a little!
See you soon with some more fun projects!

Enjoy!
