I must say today has been good as far as crafting and just getting things done that I needed to do...hooray for a good day, hah? I hope you are having a good one as well!

Here is a lavender and celadon combo card I made:

I always grab this butterfly stamp whenever I feel the need for a pretty butterfly, just love it!

I added a little charm to my nestabilities label at the bottom here by punching a tiny hole...and inserting a brad to hold the charm in place:

Another close-up:

That's it for today....hubby and I will actually catch up on some recorded tv shows tonight from way back when....imagine that....television for adults....I miss that......normally I'm either on Nickolodeon or Disney will be nice to watch regular shows again....:)

Enjoy my card for today.....we are experiencing some 'June Gloom' here in Southern Calif.....the weather has been cloudy pretty much ALL day long....really, no sun I desperately had to get out my brighter colored papers and ribbon to play with.....the first thing that came to mind was PINK and yellow....with some hints of green, and light orange too!

Hope this cheers you up if you have dark weather around your parts too! ;)

Have a lovely Sunday!

Thinking of You Birdie!

Goodmorning! Let's get right to my card today:

This card was really funny! I messed it up really bad on the first go-around.....oh it was really bad....I'm not sure what happened and I wasn't happy with it, so I re-did the entire stamping and it looked a lot better! So, unfortunately, I went over my 35 min. time! That's ok...hehehe!

I really love this feather grass stamp that I's so pretty...I always want to get it out and use it on all my cards now.

Here's a closeup of the fun bird chipboard by Making Memories:

Have a great start to your weekend, doing anything fun? We have no clue what is up for today...everyone is still in their pajamas and still trying to wake up! ;)

Stamping on white....and then the total opposite!!

Here we go with some more simple cards....whohooo...I'm having tooo much fun with my 'simple' theme! I should do more of these!

This is a card that I love because stamping on simple white cardstock is not always fact, sometimes, I feel it looks too plain, but I think there are ways around that in which you can still make it look elegant, yet still keep that fresh white look as your background.

And I just love this word, don't you?

Now here's a fun Father's Day card that I made a while ago.....instead of using white....there's a lot of color on this one! And yet BOTH cards took exactly the same amount of time - 25 minutes! It's really an amazing contrast:

Materials Used on both cards:

Papers: White cardstock. Kraft cardstock. Primary colored cardstock. Papertrey Ink.

Stamps: Hero Arts.

Blue Gems.

Ribbon by Making Memories.

Love You

I'll have a whole bunch of fun stuff to share with you in the coming days, but first....wanted to share with you a layout I finished for Lizzie Anne Designs....a wedding layout....I'm just loving weddings this time of the year!

Always on the lookout for wedding ideas and, yes, I still peek now and then at the newer bridal magazines to see what dresses are in fashion.....did you know I always wanted to be a wedding coordinator - but then I thought about it back then.....and changed my mind....crafting just naturally came along one crafting it was and it will probably stay for a long time! ;)

Here are some close-up shots, I love 'cutting off' stamped images on purpose sometimes, by randomly stamping and then punching out different designs makes it a lot more fun too!

For the damask stamping, I used a silver metallic ink to match and coordinate with the rest of the layout colors.

Before the days of the internet...PSP...iphone.....and the wii....

......childhood summers and play time were a little simpler.......

Did you ever have jump roping buddies?! I don't know what era you grew up in - but for me, childhood simplicities and fun meant going outside, gathering a couple of good friends, jumping rope.....getting out the BIG bouncy ball and just throwing it at each other.....oh, and let's not forget marbles and jacks, and fun pixy sticks filled with sugar.......

and about after all that simple fun....running down to the local corner drugstore and getting 2 cent candies!!!!! Or even a handful of 5 cent candies! And then...ending the day of fun with some yummy home-made lemonade!!

PRICELESS were those days (not that I don't appreciate the internet!

Here is a close-up of this cute little boy stamp from Hero Arts:

Enjoy my card for today......hope it brings back nothing but sweet and warm memories of YOUR childhood!

Bear Hugs!

Here we go with a 'simple' and 'cute' card #2......from my last post, I mentioned that for all of this week, I wanted to concentrate on the simple little things in life and add a touch of cuteness to it! Projects that take only 35 min. or less......and here is what I came up with for today:

Everyone loves a teddy bear now and then, and I have yet to use this stamp that I've wanted for a while now.

I also cut up some fun new patterned papers from DCWV! Yummy, I just love their papers!

Enjoy, it's off to run some errands and make some more cards...have a great day everyone!

I was sitting up last night doing some thinking.....always good to think and get fun ideas......and I thought this would be a fun week to make up a theme to work for....any without further ado, my theme this week will be 'simply cute':

Simple + Cute = A FUN WEEK! What do you think? My focus will try to be on making projects that are 35 min. or less....notice I gave myself an extra 5! Keep it simple, clean, and still add a little sparkle to it will be a fun challenge for myself and hope that you'll join in too!

I put some glitter on my sweet girl to make her dress shine! Hopefully you can see it here:

More Damask Fun!

Hi all! Wow, this weekend has really flown by, I can't believe it is already Monday! Here is a card I was able to make late last night:

I used some brand new digital papers from Lizzie Anne Designs.....papers with very soft and smooth tones, and yummy colors that coordinate with many of their new stamps from their 2009 Spring Release!

My color combo for this card was essentially green, pink, and chocolate! I had not intended to add a ribbon at all for this card, but when I was finished, the card seemed to be missing something - on went the ribbon - and the card seemed more vibrant looking! Amazing what ribbon can do every time hah?

Enjoy the rest of your day! We hope to get out and have some fun with family today - yesterday was hindered by me having a bad migraine pretty much all day - NO FUN! So we hope to get out and enjoy the sunshine as I'm feeling a tad better! Yay!!!

Grow old with me......

Hi All ~ a really quick card to share with you this morning! Weddings must definitely be on my mind, how about yours?? So many weddings this coming summer! Isn't it a beautiful time for all the new brides out there??? I happen to know a few! ;)

This is an elegant black and white card that really can be done quite quickly, 30 min. was all that it took me and it can still come out with a very clean and crisp look!

It's fun to experiment with black and white as I rarely get to play with this color I think I just have to dabble in a wedding layout with these colors!!! Oooh, I must try that!

Here is a closeup of some fun bling I added to the ribbon tie:

Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful start to the Memorial Day Holiday here in the states!! Stay safe and have fun!

For Diana.....

I've been meaning to get out a card for one of my blogging friends who does really fabulous work! Her name is Diana Foster! And if you haven't seen any of her work, you really must stop by her blog and check out all of her projects.

She's been published numerous times and has great photography skills too! She sent me a pack of wonderful handmade cards a while back and I wanted to say thank you with this card I was able to make today:

Some of the colors on the card are my favs.....the color combo of lavender and green.....and then I was playing around with a whole bunch of other colors and added yellow/mustard, brown, and black???? I even tried a little bit of an off-white ribbon - but it didn't look as good - so then I tried the lace black ribbon and it just looked so much better! I never in my life would have thought to blend yellow, brown, black, lavender, and green in such a way!

Amazing how we can play with colors, isn't?

I hope you enjoy it Diana, I'll get it sent in the mail soon! Have a wonderful day everyone....I'll try to make some time for crafting during the holiday....what fun would it be without a little card making in-between barbeques? ;)

Love Bird Card

Today, I was feeling very uncreative....we all have those days....where ideas just simply do not flow....and then, ofcourse, there are days where the ideas stroll along like you wouldn't believe, and we jump in and create, don't we?

So during my mind block, I decided to get myself outside of the house and find some inspiration....took Chris and we went shopping, stopped and had lunch at his favorite fast food restaurant....even had some icecream was was clearing OUT THE BRAIN!!

I saw many things on my journey....lovely delicate colors.....the beauty of the sun shining on my face and the thought of JUNE....what is really June??? Weddings perhaps.....yes, Father's Day...but also weddings - graduations - celebrations where lots of fun and pastel colors reign supreme! We finally got home and I was refreshed........and I was able to make this:

This is a card for my personal enjoyment and I also thought I would play along with the "Go Green" challenge over at HA. This week's challenge is to recycle and use/find items that we would normally throw away.

Here is a closeup of this bird that I cut out from a tissue carton that had pretty delicate pink scattered throughout the entire was so pretty...normally I don't keep tissue boxes that are finished....

I also used a Making Memories packaging insert from one of their paper collections....I usually don't keep those either, shame on me....but this one was so beautiful with the pink silhouette of leaves and stems.....

I finished off the look with additional pp, some nestabilities, and an organdy ribbon!

Enjoy and I'll be back with some more 'inspiration' that was captured by my outing today!

Materials used:

Papers: Making Memories Black Tie Wedding. Making Memories Sabrina. White cardstock and cream cardstock.

Stamps: Hero Arts.

Inspirational quotes

I'm back with a fun way you can utilize your stamps to make your own patterned paper and also a fun little object I made by using an object of 'nature'?

I normally do not make my own patterned paper too often, so I sat down and thought of how I could put a few stamps together to make a pretty pattern...not always an easy's hard for me to see what it looks like as a whole ensemble on paper BEFORE it's on the! After several tries, I think I finally got the look I wanted.

Now for the fun part, I wanted to use this inspirational sentiment but wanted somehow to incorporate it onto a make shift scroll because it is a vertical sentiment...very long.....and is perfect for a scroll!!

I first stamped the sentiment onto a white sheet of cardstock....I trimmed all the way around and left approx. 2" above and below the sentiment. The reason you want to leave adequate space is so you can curl inwards the top and bottom portion...just like a real scroll!

I then went outside and picked up a thin tree stick and cut it to size, and inserted directly into the curled spaces. I then took a short piece of twine and tied at both ends of the top stick.

I added a brad to hang the twine in, fun! Now your scroll looks like it is hanging with some depth on the card.

Materials used:

Stamps: Damask and Say it in Script by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Paper: White cardstock.

Brown twine.

Wood tree stem.

Silver brad.

Inks: Black and tangerine.

Blazing Red!

Hi all! Hope your day is going smoothly! Here is the card I am back to share with you today:

I used my new and yummy nestabilities to shape the card and add layers to it. The damask floral is actually 2 different stamps combined into one look.

I loved using my embellies to dress up my card a bit:

This card is a mini card and is approximately 3.5" x 3.5" in diameter. I love the small cards so much - great fun!

Materials used:

Stamps: Damask and Au Naturale by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Papers and ribbon: Papertrey Ink.

Playing with dots.....

Thought I would chime in on all the 'dots' craze that is going on over at Hero Arts! What fun!

Just for my amusement, I made this whimsical shaped card! I added my dots around the perimeter of the chipboard by using a 'period' stamp in an alphabet set. Took the stamp and went all around it - actually only took about 5 minutes...not too long!

I then added my scenery with the falling leaves tree, a hill, and the sun peeking out...I guess you could say this has kind of a wintery theme to it?! The patterned paper looks like soft bits of snow falling down on a tree that has lost its bloom!

Enjoy your Friday!

Stamps: Hero Arts.

I just thought of two other color combos that I want to work with using this damask set....oooh, I can't wait to work those two ideas in a little later!

I also lightly stamped using the same ink color images on the background of the aqua hard to see it from this angle, but maybe you can see a hint of it here towards the left hand side of the card, you may have to click on photo to really see it:

Oh, and those pins are from Making Memories....I love my stick pins!!

Enjoy the card!!

The world around us....

What inspires you? I know I've asked this question before to my fellow bloggers and to myself as well....but for me, almost any object, person, or place is a source of inspiration for me!

Take for example THIS very cute little color combination that I stumbled upon the other day! I love all the colors...delicious ......and what about that cupcake!

And here is the card I made from it:

Very simple and uncomplicated....I had yet to use this stamp set in its entirety and wanted to use all 3 leaf stamps together!

Here is a closeup of these darling felt flowers - love them!

So what inspires you the most, color.....objects....people...perhaps words or phrases! I might add my son inspires me a lot too......just looking at a toy he has or something he watches on TV can spark my imagination!

Natural Elements

Hi all....I'm here today to show you two projects in which I used the same stamp collection but have incorporated them into 2 entirely different themes....a layout for a young male, and a card for an older male!

Here is the layout I made of Christopher....I contemplated if this layout should have been titled, "Koala Boy" instead of "Nature Boy"....hehehe....

I used a butterfly stamp and 2 leaf stamps to create background papers to coordinate with the photos.....

On the sentiment, don't be afraid to stamp gently over your sentiments - it never really destroys the look of what you have written or typed, it just gives it a soft appeal!

Here is a closeup:

And here is the card for an older male using a soft brown color scheme:

These stamps and color choice is great for your next Father's Day card! And take a look at this button from Making Memories.....delicious!!!

See you all again soon and enjoy your day!!!
Materials used:

Stamps: Au Naturale, Happy Father's Day Single, and Pupcat Alphabet by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Papers: We R Memory Keepers. Martha Stewart, and K & Company.

Florals and Brown Leaves: Prima.

Felt branch: Prima.

Button: Making Memories.

Marvy circle punch.

Soft and delicate....

It's been a while since I've done another one of my absolute favorite color combos....lavender and celadon!! Sometimes, it is a light green and sometimes it could be a darker green....same goes for the lavender:

I fell in love with these colors earlier in the year, I believe!

Now I wanted to cut a little bit around my focal point which are these bigger leaves here:

Makes it appear as if the top part of the leaves are sticking out a bit while the remainder is still 'connected' to the paper....a very fun look!!!

And here is a closeup of stamping the sentiment directly on top of a leaf stamp, I love the subtle effect that it gives:

Have a great day and I will be back with a brand new layout that has been completed! Enjoy!

Butterfly Dreams....

Hi all! I'm back with a fun card to share with you today.........

I love, love these butterflies....but, ofcourse, some of you already know how much I love butterflies since that is my 'nickname' in the Vietnamese language! ;) And lately, I've had this love for vintage and distressing, still don't do as many projects with distressing as much as I would like to, but I see myself improving in that area much more so than say, a year ago!

And what about orange??? How do you feel about the color orange? I've been mentioning this to many people that orange is fast becoming a favorite of just strikes me somehow this year!!

For this closeup - I stamped and trimmed my butterflies, and then curled them gently downwards with my fingertips before adhering my gems....turned out very pretty I thought!

And a look at this sentiment - so beautiful and I love that elegant script writing:

Enjoy.....have lots more to share with you in the weeks to come!!

Materials used:

Papers: K & Company.

Old Letter writing paper.

Stamps: Au Naturale by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Bumblebee and tangerine crystal gems.

Round corner punch.

Inks: Crimson red, tangerine, Stazon Jet Black.
